  • Since the iPad has fallen to the $399 price, do you believe the iPad might be a better consumption tablet than the G Tablet? Looking at getting the device for my mother.

  • Im having trouble with copying knowing how to copy the recovery folder & the update.zip to the root of the internal memory , can you help me with a video on doing it ? or walk me through it ?

  • @clemsonfan1680 I will be making a video doing this. I've been busy entertaining family over the holidays, but I have a slew of videos coming out, including those to help newcomers to the gTablet!

  • Hello,

Can the it handle 480P MKV? AVI? Great info, keep it up!

  • @gunyaak I'm not exactly sure. I think I saw someone on xda-developers doing some detailed testing on video, but as far as I remember, it really depends on the app you use to watch videos.

  • @ehunyadi I'm pretty sure android has native AVI support, i watched an .avi of Xmen origins on my vibrant. If this was 5 hours in the future I'd let you know but i'll probably forget about this thread as @gunyaak has probably already.

  • @phatfel Hello; I answered these questions in my videos that I made later. :)

  • Will you be able to tether your Android phone to your viewsonic g tablet ?

  • @burgavo1 I can tether my HTC Evo with this just fine; I've done it on a few business trips already at the airport.

  • I know this is asking alot, but I'm virgin to the whole android thing... I really want android as opposed to ipad (apple can suck it) and I know I'm going to want the firmware you've installed (I want flash, and the ability to play avi ect...) Could we get you to post a video detailing the whole process of taking this out of the box, installing clockwork then TnT lite? Thanks for everything you've done already.

  • Thanks for making this video. I've been on the fence about the Viewsonic, but you've helped me decide. I just have a request: Could you post detailed videos on how to install various things like Flash, TnT and Launcher? It would be very helpful to everyone who owns a Viewsonic tablet. Thanks for your assistance!

  • @cameraz99 Thanks, I spoke to soon before seeing other videos of yours. Do you have both TnT and Launcher installed? And how does one update to TnT 2.04? I can't find the video. Thanks.

  • Does this have any cameras? I saw the camera app in the list so was just wondering. If so, can you use the app in your next video?

  • @Vux911 Yes; it has a front-facing camera. I will use the camera in my next video.

  • Are the graphics for the games jagged or blurry when viewing on the 10" screen?

  • @dreemaze Not at all. They are very smooth; it's really quite impressive. Angry Birds is spectacular.

  • Does Google Maps, Navigation and Location-based services work? So, does that mean I can use it as a 10" GPS if needed?

  • @Cobalt2112 According to others on xda developers, it works, but I haven't tried it. The G-Tab doesn't have GPS so you have to attach it to your phone's GPS. It will then work like a 10" GPS.

  • can you please post a video on how to flash the G Tablet to TnT Lite 2.00 with market and angry birds? been trying for 3 days...failing every time. the entire process? PLS? im begging you!

  • @Packer2058 I have posted a few videos showing how I flashed using Clockworkmod. Installing Angry Birds should be straight forward once you have Flash installed. I can do a video for the market hack; give me a day to do so.

  • can you please post a video on how to flash this? been trying for 3 days...failing every time. the entire process? PLS? im begging you!

  • Where can this ROM be found? Is it hard to flash the ROM? Do you know if this TNT Lite ROM is still being worked on? I am considering buying the G-Tab over the Archos A101, so I am hoping this device will continue to get better. Thanks for the video.

  • @phillydude68 Go to xda-developers for the ROM. It is quite simple provided you follow the instructions there. TnT Lite appears to be a work-in-progress by Roebeet (xda user extraordinaire). It looks like development will continue, as there are currently three branches of development that I am aware of (TnT Lite, Zpad, and CyanogenMod). Good luck!

  • TnT Lite is at least 90% vanilla TnT stock - I just remove a few things and add a few things.

If we really want to get this thing streamlined, the best thing to do is called VS customer service and complain. Seriously. I call them every time I find a bug or have a suggestion - if enough of us do that, maybe it will make a difference.

  • @roebeet I agree completely! I plan on calling 'em a few times this coming week.

  • I know you have to pay for a subscription altho the app is free, but are you able to download the Wall Street Journal app, which I know they released for use on the Galaxy Tab.

  • @tomleskin No-go for the WSJ in Marketplace.

  • Would you say that TnT Lite 2.0 is the best rom for the G tablet at the moment?

    Thanks for the upload.

  • @linuxsport From my personal experience running all of them so far, I would say yes. It's the smoothest and most trouble-free of the releases. Each has their strengths, but right now, I would say it's the best by a notch over CM if only because the sound works without the headphone needing to be put in and pulled out.

  • Thanks. I was hoping someone would put up a vid of TnT 2.0 with angry birds. Have you tried other games or emulators like psx? Have you done any benchmarks?

  • @japhule I have tried other games; they are pretty nice, although some don't full-screen. I haven't tried any emulators yet, but I plan on trying the SNES emulator (I loved Aerobiz back in the day) and I will run benchmarks soon and post a video for it.
