  • Supernatural brought me here lol

  • Cool

  • *-*

  • Super suche ich seit Jahren DAAAAANke

  • Weed all day with this

  • is there an instrumental version to this? Can't find one!!!

  • super song

  • Great song. I pd. to download it as the ringtone on my phone. :-)

  • I still find it hilarious that he was on so many drugs that In The Garden of Eden became ina gadda davida lol. Great song.

  • Hip Hop is sadly dead.

  • @zarenj21 what you mean sadly and hip hop? im gkad hip hop ia dead cause rock is awesome and better and this is metal kinda

  • @rhinohead47 Hip Hop was a culture for alot of people. It helped them get by. Killing it hurt an art and a population that needed it. The "Hip Hop" that is fed by the radio(drugs, money, b!tches) is not the "Hip Hop" i work for. And I'm musically diverse, so I'm not quick to judge if one genre is better than another. Shoot i play classical music, go to rock concerts, but Hip Hop will always mean something since it can be so true and inspirational. So think next time before you post.

  • @zarenj21 errmmm maybe you dont know goths then since when did we listen to hip hop and worship it

  • @rhinohead47 I don't assume you do, and please do not associate words like "worship" with the peoples appreciation of Hip Hop. I'm just mad that you're ignorant of a genre that had so much influence on people, good and bad, and that when it was good it was a great feeling. "gkad hip hop ia dead" sure, cause it didn't mean anything to you cause you probably grew up in a life without a real struggle. P.S the reason I'm here is b/c this song was sampled for 'hip Hop is Dead' by Nas.

  • @zarenj21 i dont think you understand dickhead maybe you should listen more

  • sounds like some batcave shit LOL

  • Saw at the racetrack in Kearney, Nebraska in the seventies. This was the first million selling rock album.

  • I think the album version is about 14 minutes. My brother-in-law, who worked at a radio station, said some DJs would play the album version to give them time to use the restroom

  • It is suppost to be called in the garden of Edan but the singer was so stoned that when he first anounced it it came out "in a gadda da vida." true story.

  • lol i thought it was called In The Garden Of Eden lol

  • we got this album for xmas, found it played it, and tried very well to put back together, by the by were at first annoyed they bought the live lp lol, and we wanted the studio, but soon came to enjoy, wow, and we did not get caught, my sister and i all of 15, and knew, terific

sorry that they never came to wiinipeg manitoba, when we were here

  • hey, check out the version by 16bit, (early form of techno, real weird version) anyway, what does the chorus translate to?

  • Where did this come from? Sounds like an early or working version of the song.

  • freddy crooger !!

  • freddy crooger !!

  • *Iron Butterfly's hit "In A Gadda Da Vida", was originally called "In The Garden of Eden". Singer Doug Ingle, was so trashed on LSD one rehearsal that it came out "In A Gadda Da Vida", and the band decided that was a better name for the song.

  • awesome tune thank you for putting it on cheers x

  • This song is awesome. It didn't deserve to be buried in history's dustbin.

  • the long version rules and it isn't to long it's just magic

  • The original is tooooo much long

  • wow, i got one minute less, i must be a faget...irony off:D

  • the originaL is 16 minutes long...

  • Definitely not the original. The guitar part is dead wrong in parts!

  • This is Mike Pinera, who joined the "fly" in 70...and who later replaced Doug Engle as lead vocalist..Mike now tours with the Classic-Rock All-Stars and features a vast array of old rockers appearing with him Internationally. It is definitely "NOT" the original version, rather a 90ish remake for somebody who wanted it for some "unencumbered" distribution...probably. Ask the poster.

  • Love the Drum solo on here!

  • this song reminds me of Fez singing out loud with Hyde

  • I remember that Episode! =D

  • Thanx for the bite it was good enough for Me to create a clean Mp3 bite for a ringtone for a friend!!!

  • skootcher?

  • this was sampled on nas - hip hop is dead song, damn great instrumental...

  • this is not the original...not even the same band.

  • Absolutely one of the best rock songs ever recorded.

  • finally a normal version of the song instead of the bad sound quality X3 nice dude =) 5/5

  • This is the stripped down version they released as a single. Good for when you've smoked less than a pound of weed in the last hour. If that's not the case go ahead and hit up that 7 min drum solo stuff.

  • hey the full version is the best, solo's show musical creativity and talent.

  • You must've smoked yourself out of doing research.... this isn't the original "In A Gadda Da Vida". Nothing like it. This was a 90's remake by a cash-in version of Iron Butterfly that had different members.

  • The 3 minute single was released 7/21/68

  • But that's not the version heard here. The three minute single was merely a short edit of the album version, removing everything from Doug's organ solo to the Egyptian/frantic drum section towards the end. The version in this video was made long after Doug Ingle left the band, originally for, I believe, a Rhino collection of Sixties hits.

  • This is not the original 17 minute version... and it is a poor replica. Check out the 17 minute version, from the original album and you will hear the true version of the song.

  • simspons version is best

  • First of all, its in slow motion, obviously, and second, its not the original version, terrible, waste of video in YouTube

  • The obvious product of an extensive drug-orgy, the phrase itself was once rumored to have originated from the inability of a drunken Doug Ingle to pronounce the line "In the Garden of Eden". (The story itself is false- the term was corrupted for commercial appeal, but it still gives us a fair idea of what kind trippy of mindset Iron Butterfly was in).

  • omgg dude im so high right now -.-

  • Im 14 years old and this song is awesome.

  • im 18 years of age and i dont care

  • @95chez you got a good taste lol

  • acid :D

  • great music

  • Hey...This isn´t the full song! >.>

  • sry it wldnt let me upload the full song

  • No problem, I was just wondering. ^^

  • Yeah, I'm staring at the LP, it's not exactly a short song. In fact, it takes up ALL of side 2 on an ATCO SD33-250 LP at 17:05. Don't feel bad, its youtube that puts the restrictions on.

  • @SilverWindsOfficial lol its like 17 mins! thats funny

  • Yea nas must really like this song lol

  • the godfathers of all that is heavy.

  • i didnt find the name i thought it was in the garden of eden and i found many things but not the one from iron butterfly.

but now i know what the name is.

    in a gada davida

  • He probly did mean to say in a garden of eden but back then was during the acid rock times so it came out in a gada davida

  • haha 4:20 for life!

  • Heh ...Nas sampled this song.Twice!!! :)

  • haha ya

  • woooooow im high just by hearing it

  • lmao

  • This just shows what unique outcome, when things are being analysed freely;-)

  • Good song to get high to

  • I guess thats because he wrote it when he was high... haha

  • ya it was meant to be in the garden of eden

  • ya... haha.... but i dont think it would have been as good of a song if they said that in the song

  • true

  • lol

  • RE Extinction

    good song

  • ahhh.. love this song sooo much B-)

  • Make sure to watch our ton ten songs from bullet for my valentine video!!!!!

  • like bart simpson in the church

  • @ultrasimpsonfan "Wait a minute, this sounds like rock and, or roll!"

  • This is the Mike Pinera version by the way. Mike played with Iron Butterfly from 1970-1971, appeared on their Metamorphosis album, and various other years in the 80s.

  • Really? I did not know that..... thank you!! =)

  • he was high wen the song was madee garden of eden i still love the song

  • lol best audio quality on youtube that i find the rest is or mono or live or some Fuckin bootlegg

    so can't complain Greetings Holland

  • this version sucks

  • Well its not my favorite version.. i like the 17 one much better... that version was the most requested but least played song on the radio because it was that long.. so iron butterfly got together and made this version for the radio

  • ah ok

yes the 17 one is better

  • wow 17 minutes?

  • ya its an amazing song

  • ahh yeah baby doncha know that i loo oove you. oh won't you.. ok yeah i'm gonna get angry in a minit at youtube cuz awesome ppl like you can't upload more'n 10 mins at a time... well ty for uploading this tantalizing ... dammit i was tryna be nice but i want more! LOL

  • yeah hahah very long but awesome song

  • I wonder what hip hop would be like without ripping off other artist's music i think it would be even more shit than it really is, but i have to say some of the old school stuffs really good like NWA that's original music .

  • shut up ur missin the point of music, its there for enjoyment..

  • sampling, copying... its all the same fuk sticks

  • Just like Radiohead ripped off The Hollies? All music is copied from other music just like film.

  • check out Nas singing Hiphop is Dead... copied the riff totally

  • Its called "Sampling" You tard

  • all the hip hop is about samplin idiot

  • thats like saying rock is all about long hair.

  • not really. hiphop was started by sampling parts of other songs and modifying the beat.

  • Yeah but it's about the lyrics.

  • Comment removed

  • Very true. Most rappers wrote poetry for years before putting words to a beat - the music came later and that's where sampling comes in. For better or for worst.

  • yeah thats how it started man but what it has become is absolutely awful. every rap song is about the same damn thing. . .bitches hoes drugs and dance moves

  • Haha i agree!!!!

  • Not all sampling is good. Some cuts should be left alone.

  • oh and btw the origional song is over 12 minutes long :D

  • I know!!!! it was 27 minutes and i couldnt find it... i was mad, i dont even know what the original sounds like =(

  • yes actually this version you have is very much like the origional. =D i always love hearing this song when i am watching a movie and people go "oooo thats catchy! who is it?" cause i know =]] makes this is a really good song to listen 2 when you are high... but i personally would not know. lol

  • i just got the original 17 minute one... would you like me to put it on?

  • omg yes if u would like to :D

  • It said its copy righted!!!! damn!!! haha

  • ooooh that'd be awesome put it on! I love this song!

  • this song was extreamly famous back when it came out. the singer was completely stonned and drunk when he came up with the lyrics. the song was actually supposed 2 be "in the garden of eden" but they didnt change it because everybody ended up loving the song. hell its still used in games and movies =]]
