Parece una reunión de borrachos, joder. musicalmente penosos todos, incluyendo a brian may, que en solitario hace una versión que le pega cien patadas a esta.podrían haber ensayado todos un poco.
Somehow, I dont think Bowie will show up. I believe there to still be some animosity. On the other hand, time dulls the bitters and some things may be forgotten/forgiven. What do you think?
This video makes me want to be a rocker when I grow up....Lot of love and respect on that stage.Saw the band in S. F. in 1974.Pretty Things opened the show.Another classic rock and roll show for the ages.....Hope the band makes it to the west coast.....
Anyone want to venture a guess as to who might show up at the Mott The Hoople Reunion show? My guess is Brian May, Joe Elliott, maybe Brian Ferry from Roxy music?
Got 2nd row seats dead center for the big Reunion show October 2nd 2009. Flying from "Cleveland Rocks" Ohio to London England for the show. I cannot wait to see this. What a class act Ian and gang have been all these years. Please dont stop making music. You are truly one of the Great Ones. May God continue to smile on you.
Brings tears to the eyes..........tears of truth and inspiration.A sine' quo non of what live rock and roll is all about performed.Perhaps the song makes sense to musicians who fit in to the 'rocker'category, but the words and composition clearly make this song epic in its portrayal of rocker life in a Dostoevsky kind of way.
This is one of those songs that you can't really explain why it is so great. I agree that it was better when Mick Ralphs played lead as on the C.D. recently released from '04. Brian May I will always appreciate for his insightful remarks about Honda Minako when she passed but Mick Ralphs lived the song, its about his guitar. Ian is the only late 60's rocker who I feel has never let us down. I hope he lives to be 120. Greg G. of Portland
My first concert in Atlanta in 1973 they opened with this song. I'm afraid I have a soft spot for it then. Nothing against nostalgia. I think Hunter's voice has actually gotten better with age. He should do the vocals on this song. (Let's face it. he never could really "sing" -wink) I like May just fine. But I miss Mick Ralphs, Overend Watts and the boys doing it then.
I was there too. Brian May appearing was such a bonus. A really great night despite the bar only selling canned beer that was warm and very expensive. You notice things like that when you are middle aged. Rock and roll!
Brilliant! Not only is Ian singing and playing better than ever but he certainly has aged gracefully. In fact name me a Rock star from late 60's to the present who still looks this sharp. And believe me, Mott partied with the best of them I imagine. Go Ian Hunter!
Did you ever read his book - Confessions of a rock star? It's really funny. He was a married guy with kids, always worried about his weight... They all hated the groupies, and would send them to annoy the roadies, & vice versa. Good stuff.
ian hunter (mott) brian may(queen) joe walsh (the eagles) it cant get any better ,,ffs this is golden,,,god bless rock-n-roll,,p.s u got to tell your friends to tell there friens abot this 1 ,,
P.S. I saw Queen open for Mott the Hopple in about 1974 or 75 in KC. Yes, it was Sweet. Brian May had just joined the Group or it was his first US tour.
Mott the Hopple should have stayed together. I never actually liked Bad Company much, never disliked them.
"All The Way..." is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. I saw Mott the Hoople play it live in '70s (and I've seen Ian and his band play it a couple of times) and it never fails to thrill me!
Scorcese always has great rock songs in his films. Check out Meanstreets(1973) when Johnny Boy(Robert DeNiro) enters the bar."Jumping JaCk Flash"..Classic Baby...ATWFM is a great tune..Thanks..
i went to a couple of the concerts on this tour and i must say the show was awsome but they were minus brian may he only appeared in the london concert here but the whole band were great including and not forgetting Mick Ralphs one of the originals
I was noting that before he was announced... Played with Mr. Gilmour as well on About Face 84 tour! I heard this only with the Contraband project from Michael Schenker, the star of that all-star affair. It almost is a better version then Hunters!! Check it out
Brian May looks like he never left the seventies! His swashbuckling body movements here (i.e. the perennial guitar hero) are pure Histrionics 101, but I'm sure it always makes for a hell of a good time live, nevertheless.
wow! What a find! So glad to see these guys still making such great music. I was a fan of Mott the Hoople's back in the 70s and to see video of Ian or the group itself is so exciting. And oh man, Brian May in this? I swear, that man has one of the best guitar styles and sound that I've ever heard. He rocks out here!
Would have LOVED to have been there!

Rock and Roll with "heart".
Ian wrote well: "you have to stay a young man, you can never grow old".
Wisdom.
Brian May is great. But he is like the king said about Mozart in Amadeus: "Too many notes". (wink)
