@peterandben The shots wouldn't have done much, since they can't be aimed. It just comes from the front of the ship. Therefore, he would've only hit C.L.U. for a few seconds. The only way would've been to ram him, because in order to be directly behind him, TRON/Rinzler would've ben cut in half.

This soundtrack is one of those few great efforts that supersedes and lifts you beyond the boundaries of the movie. I feel the music unlocking my imagination, writing new plotlines, characters, and horrors. I feel it shift my conciousness. I see flesh tunnels carved in clean swoops through the valleys of an unknown mind, lines bent inward like light sucked into a black hole. There is a plane of existence where the body cannot go, but only the mind, and this music pulls me there.

This was a good movie, and defiantly worthy of the franchise. And for all those who think the movie was not up to par i urge you to watch the original Tron (Directors Cut), in order for you to see how close the films were in concept and story line. The reason films seemed better back in the 70's and 80's is because we were a lot younger back then and the special effects and camera angles left more to the imagination. I thought the movie was not only good, but faithful to its origins.
