Who cares what divers 'like' or 'want'. This old warship has 23,000 sq m of lead paint, which also probably has PCBs in it. Of course, the trusty ole State Government never tested the paint for PCBs. I thought Bazza O'Farrell was promising a new clean era of State Governance...
Your whole message is a little confusing you're against yet for the sinking at the same time? The studies of properly scuttled ships have shown they are beneficial to the marine life in the area. This was such a huge event and so closely scrutinized that this will be nothing but a great success imo.
other dive wrecks that have been sunk have not had any so called toxic chemicals come out so there are no problem with sinking a ship that has been cleaned really good
@navy54able I know they spent time stripping her of stuff that could be toxic. Also being decommissioned, knowing the Australian military, I bet they took off the missile launcher to recycle. It looked like it was working perfectly well a few years ago. If doesn't make sense for Australia to want to poison our own beaches. These are the beaches they defend. Do you know if they will be replaced?
thank you for sharing this video *****

It's about time, it should have been scuttled over a year ago. I will be diving on it.

@GregsKitchen You think no problem? I hope you are right. It's not a big ship and it is a big sea current.
