I USES TO SNEEK AND LISTEN TO WCFL RADIO DURING THE WEEK LATE NIGHTS IN CHARLOTTE IN 1957. AND WBT RADIO JAZZ SHOW ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS. WHEN I BECAME AQANTED WITH MOSE AND PARCHMENT FARM. I FOUND OUT IN 1964 STATIONED IN BILOXIE MISS. THAT IT IS A REAL PLACE.(THE STATE PIN).
it's really weird how I "found" him ... was searching for "Möse" (german for pussy) somewhere ... and then Mose popped up ... since then, I'm a fan! ;)
@dougmael it was novenber 8th 1957 in a studio in newark, new jersey,,,,on that very day in a hospital not 10 minutes away , i exited the my mom;ss birth canal.
You must be thinking of a track by British pianist/composer Max Harris called Gurney Slade. It was used for a 60s TV theme, Now your kids and grandson can listen and smile!
@SoireedeGala Thank you! That's it. I can't thank you enough. I just linked it to my facebook. When everyone wakes up around here, I'm going to play it for them! <3
@redsnapper1959 Do you or anyone else know the jazz song with exactly these piano notes done with a flute lead and no lyrics? Very beatnicky sounding? My dad used to be an engineer for a recording studio and then a radio station in Mobile Alabama. He had a literal barrel full of records. We kids used to just get them out and play them for fun. The record I speak of was one of them. I've been dying for years to hear it again. Want my kids and grandson to hear it.
Of COURSE, it rocks. It's Mose Allison!

Exactly the same piano backing notes were used a few years later on Anthony Newley's 1961 UK hit "Bee Bom".

Can we clone Mose Allison so that he lives forever? Love this; love him. Wish there were more Mose Allisons around. Thanks a million!
