I heard that you can catch AIDS from oral sex, but I believe it is much less likely because of the variety of acids and bateria in your mouth that can kill viruses like AIDS. Also, there isn't the breaking of blood vessels in the mouth life occurs in anal sex, which allows the HIV virus to pass into the blood stream more easily.
People don't die of HIV or AIDS because they're straight or gay - it's do to promiscuity which is entirely different. If over 50% of all new AIDS cases and deaths are homosexual males (15,000 a year), and homosexuals are 40 times more likely to contract otheranal related diseases then it doesn't take a lot of analysis to determine that chosen lifestyle is inheritly riskly to your health. I heard that you can catch AIDS from oral sex, but I believe it is much less likely because of the variety of acids and bateria in your mouth that can kill viruses like AIDS. Also, there isn't the breaking of blood vessels in the mouth life occurs in anal sex, which allows the HIV virus to pass into the blood stream more easily.

By the way, the CDC fact sheet is clear in that it says that the 1 in 5 statistic is of the study, and as such is not a reflection on the population as a whole. People are more likely to participate in such a study if they think they are at risk.
