Every time you beat a level, the game pretty much saves by itself. It's kind of like Super Smash Bros. Melee where it saves every time you exit a menu. But every time you beat a level, it will save automatically for you.
Hmm, are you playing on a GBA or the SNES. Because if it is the GBA, then there's probably something wrong with the cartridge. Because my cartridge has an error on it and it can't save anymore.
If you are playing on the SNES, then the game has a tendancy to freeze and not save the file at times.
Other than this, I don't know what to say about the saving problem of yours. Sometimes, if you play the GBA version on a bootleg cartridge, the file might not be able to save if you play on a DS.
Playing on the SNES emulator and put it on my PSP. The only way that I know it will save for sure is if I lose all my lives and I go to the start menu.
Well, I do know that it can save automatically on the SNES emulator whenever I play it on there. I think it depends on which specific emulator you're using. But since you're playing on the PSP, I can not be sure about the saving issue. It might be the emulator that you're using or it might not. I hope this helps

Mario bros classic is pretty awesome. I suck at it though and I can't get really far in it though.

Weird, because I beat level 1-5 and then on level 1-6 the game froze. So I had to reset. And then when I got onto my file I had to redo level 1-5.
