What a heavenly voice !! Bravo !!! I know very few people appreciate this kind of singer and music, but I believe those who are educated and know the real music can really understand and enjoy a counter tenor style and voice. I can listen to this guy for hours and hope to see him in concert in person. Thank God for giving a gift of music through Philippe Jaroussky.
Where has he been all my life? He makes some of the so-called "famous" counter-tenors who people rave about in my home town (New York City) sound like amateurs!
does anyone know if he will do concert dates in the US i would pay almost anything to see this man live. he is wonderful and fantastic and everything good. Plus a good looking guy
In my opinion, he is one of the best counter tenors in the world at this moment, and so young! I had the chance of watching him live and it was deeply emotional... The emotion of when he is singing, the expression... I couldn't stop thinking he was looking at me; he really establishes a connection.
@ThePanegyric I believe you, I don't unfortunately him to see live singing... It's a shame, but most likely he does not going to go to Czech Republic :(
I've watched several of the Phillipe Jaroussky videos tonight, and while I've not exhausted myself on them, I've run out of superlatives to explain why I can't stop listening to his voice! The man is brilliant! (...and, yes, the viola de gamba was magical- a great match of voices, human and instrumental!) I confess: I watched this twice so I could rate it ***** twice, too. I don't feel the least guilty. I favorited it, too.

Hes good, but Vitas isa much better singer by far. Vitas makes him looks like a rookie. Vitas voice is one of a kind and noone can ever match his singing voice. Vitas best songsare dedication, and smile.
According to the CD notes, it was written for the 1714 version of Orlando, at the Teatro Sant'Angelo in Venice (it wasn't used in the more famous 1727 version of this opera). R. is lamenting his own betrayal of Bradamante; the notes don't say which Act it was in.
Oh Jarouski! I've discover him couple years ago, so inteligent, sensitive, refined man, he has this ability to take you over the top... When I hear Jarousky singing, I go wondering if there's any other place to go... His voice makes me fly, it gives a sense o interieur... it is almost close to meditation... Thank you so much messieur Jarouski for existing... And is not only your voice tha pleases me, the whole of you... thanks again
I think all you say about him ; Merci Monsieur Jarroussky d'exister, celà nous apporte leBONHEUR ce don de votre Etre si Beau dans sa totalité ! BRAVO
Amazing. Voices such as this can never be diminished in their quality and admiration. I've been dying to hear a voice like this, since I picked up 'Cry to Heaven,' by Anne Rice. Thank you for uploading.
I read that book as well and it is intense! I'd say that if you are look for different voices, try to find David Daniel, Andreas Scholl, Brian Asawa, Randall Wong. There are so many good counter tenors. PJ is one of my favorites because his voice is very sweet on the ears!
That book was very intense; almost a little much! I had read it when I was young, at sixteen, trying to fill my goth-kid Anne Rice obligation. But as an adult, to reread it...I cannot describe it. Pain, and wonder, wrapped into it. Ah, but anyway, thank you for the recommendations!
Philippe Jaroussky est la suvre d'art, la beauté pure. Sa voix, sa apperance, sa conduite - on ne pourrait rien arranger sans avoir abîmé le complet. Le Cherubin.
The voice, warm, crystal pure, the legato and technique, incredible; the expression, full of emotion, the face, seductive. The whole Philippe, unique in all his manifestations.I love You tube because we can WATCH him sing.
What and incredibly attractive man. I Still watch this every day .Addiction.
Thanks for the video.I love Philippe's voice in its agility and lightness singing fast runs in some of Vivaldi's works but also his emotional and expressive interpretation of works such as this. This kid is amazing! And he also looks amazing! What a miracle he is!
I like him very much in this kind of arie, but his pronuntiation isn't perfect. I know It doesn't matter to international listeners (that in general don't know italian anymore and appreciate only the melody), but he says "piantU", not "piantO" and the word "favorisca" can only be guessed by italian speaking people, but it's not the word he pronounces, that basically doesn't exist
You must admit though that his pronounciation has improved a lot these. I am a Italian speaker and I singing mostly in Italian and French(and German but I feel like I'm chewing iron when doing it!lol)His more recent work is a lot better. Cut him some slack, he's French!
He has a lighter voice than Scholl and not so rich as Esswood, but it is very high quality. His voice and talent should be sought after by discerning directors.
