@360blunt I know that Drake was a child actor before makin' it big as a rapper, but he was always into hip hop. His character "Jimmy" on Degrassi rapped alot on the show. Drake displayed his talent then. I kinda figured he was gonna pursue a career in rap once he left the Degrassi series. Hardcore rap and rap battles is my shit too, I don't think that part of hip hop is leavin' anytime soon. But the genre needs to grow and appeal to everybody or it's gonna get stagnant. Deuces.

I don't have a problem with rappers singin melodies as long as it sounds good. I mean if you look back at people like Bone Thugs they did that shit a lot. And I think some of these new cats like Drake, Cudi and Wiz use it well. They may not be the best technical singers out there but they get the job done.
There is no originality in today's music. I don't want to hear the same thing over and over again, and the majority of the people I'm hearing can't rap well. Can't remember the last good rapper that came out. Very few exceptions, Lupe Fiasco and Wale are a couple. But I feel SOME OF THE ARTISTS that make it on the radio SHOULD HAVE TALENT of some sort. I can rap better than thoses sorry bass figures. No concepts, NO lyrics, NO ORIGINALITY how is that acceptable to you?

@360blunt I know that Drake was a child actor before makin' it big as a rapper, but he was always into hip hop. His character "Jimmy" on Degrassi rapped alot on the show. Drake displayed his talent then. I kinda figured he was gonna pursue a career in rap once he left the Degrassi series. Hardcore rap and rap battles is my shit too, I don't think that part of hip hop is leavin' anytime soon. But the genre needs to grow and appeal to everybody or it's gonna get stagnant. Deuces.

I don't have a problem with rappers singin melodies as long as it sounds good. I mean if you look back at people like Bone Thugs they did that shit a lot. And I think some of these new cats like Drake, Cudi and Wiz use it well. They may not be the best technical singers out there but they get the job done.

There is no originality in today's music. I don't want to hear the same thing over and over again, and the majority of the people I'm hearing can't rap well. Can't remember the last good rapper that came out. Very few exceptions, Lupe Fiasco and Wale are a couple. But I feel SOME OF THE ARTISTS that make it on the radio SHOULD HAVE TALENT of some sort. I can rap better than thoses sorry bass figures. No concepts, NO lyrics, NO ORIGINALITY how is that acceptable to you?
