I do like this movie, but I wish they'd had the courage to put in more of the novel--specifically, the relationships Brenda, Elise, and Annie get into after their husbands dump them. I don't want to spoil things for anyone who hasn't read it, but each of them get into a relationship that would raise a few eyebrows among their social circle.

I first saw this movie YEARS ago when I was much much younger (around 8 or so) and this scene is what I remember most!!!! I could remember everything from the song lyrics, to the all white outfits, to the end when they're walking down the street and singing!!! I loved this movie. I loved 90's feminism. I was a teenager when this movie was in theaters - about 1995 or 1996. I was 16. For some reason, that's about the only thing I loved about the 90's - the feminism! I loved saying you go girl and watching women empower themselves through careers and business. You dont own me. I don't have to marry anyone, I can be single and happy and successful in my life. I am a woman of the 90's. It was really Hilary Clinton who was running the country :)
