  • what made it for me was, what wasn't said.

  • interesting shower scene

  • Lol when the face flashed at her in the knife that was like the scardest I've evr been in my life

  • great film showing in short time the complex relationship of depressions. Thanks for the up load!

  • I have had depression for the last 3 years, and it can feel like you are at war against yourself :(

  • So thats whats i got on the inside...

  • Wow that's scary !!!!!

  • wtf

  • Too good.

This portrays the exact emotions felt when suffering from depression.

  • this was touching T^T

  • wait, what was that last line about santa claus about? doesn't that mock & devalue the message here?

  • @JackHighlander

I think it's trying to give you a better understanding of the idea that "Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there" since the idea of Santa Clause is easy to think of when it comes to that saying. Thats just my opinion.

  • when she was crying with that stuff on her face it was to scary i came down here to the comments to read em

  • God DAMNIT why do these short movie be better than the long movies that like real freaking directors/producers do.this movie was great man thumbs up if you agree though

  • Brillliant!

  • This was stupid :)

  • I don't care what anyone says, I loved this. There's so much in this that I think everyone can relate to, whether it's what she's saying to the "monster" or especially the shower scene... That gave me chills; I can't tell you how many times I've done that. It was beautiful and such a true short film and I absolutely loved it, five stars for you and then some.

  • 'And Santa Clause' LOL Loved it and LOVED that last line hahaha!

  • It was good except you could've taken out the creepy music, I held the headphones away from my ears incase something jumped out...

  • 10:43 ....and Santa Clause?

  • Well done!!!! LOVED IT!!!

  • I love the message that it was giving. I love the acting and the horror kind of atmosphere. Great Job!

Add and subscribe me and watch one of my trailers of my 1st film "In Love and War"

  • um,......no. This sucked. The sound was bad, the actors bad, the ending bad...wtf.

  • she's not beautiful..

  • Great film.

  • style is alot like the shining

  • Good movie. The main actors were freakin' great. Cinematography also very good.

I personally don't care for the split screen stuff during the dinner scene, but that's just me. I feel it draws viewer's attention away from the story and towards the filmmaking process-thus spoiling the "illusion". I like the way the reveal at the end was shot-- actually kinda scary. Good work.

  • very well made. but i did kinda scare me with the reflection of the knife. but other than that amazing job.

  • /watch?v=DED2B8yhMMA

  • been lookin at alot of short films on here, alot of them boring, some with really terrible actors, but this was amazing kept my interest and great acting all the way through! :D well done

  • Santa claus?? Did I actually hear him say that or was it my imagination???

  • @mahnea747 yep, u heard it right, lol, santa claus...

  • Not bad!!

  • when she is crying she looks like a man LOL

  • @MizRawrful LOL

  • @MizRawrful lollollol omg i thought the same thing im gonna give you a thumbs up

  • Didn't like it.

  • Oh my god... I was so freaked out during that dinner scene! She saw that thing in the utensil, and I screamed!! LOL XD

  • seeking help and santa claus? did he actually say that?

  • Was good until the last 7 seconds.

  • fucking scary

  • wonderful!!!

  • What's happened here? I didn't understand...

  • I guess (if I understood correctly) her ugliness that only she herself could see was a figure/ a symbol for her depression. no one elese could see it because she hid it. then she chose to let her family see the ugly monster inside her (i.e. she told them about the depression) and could thus slowly change back to her normal self (cause she got help)

  • i didnt understand :D

  • Could have been a good film if it was about 5 or 6 minutes.

Took too long to figure out wtf her problem was. I thought she was going to tell him she was a lesbian.

  • I think this video is working, very well....its important to make such statements in our time!!!Good job!!!

  • i like the message. The idea wasn't bad but it didn't really work

  • Calm down are you the directors mom or something?

  • Wow, that was deep. I like this keep up the great work. V Dub

  • This film is bad and you should feel bad!

  • This sucked.

  • the film is depressing itself!

  • kinda reminds me of one of the heroes ep. when jessica is talking to alter ego in the mirror !

  • Excellent Job.

  • wow sweet vid 6/5

  • Captures the disease perfectly, but says nothing of the cure. It doesn't just go away once everyone knows about it; seldom isn't never.

  • When she confronted her family with bleeding mascara I thought she was going to kill them (under influence of the voices)...but that was really disturbing, but a great short film.

  • good job man good job

  • This is so sad.

    Well done.

  • Did he just say santa claus? haha

Good video overall. it kinda freaked me out in the begining at first.

  • Well made. What kind of camera did you use?

  • Unsure what the DP was using - I think it might have actually been a DV camera?! Canon?

  • Great video! Would someone be interested in taking a look att my short film Time to leave. A short movie in 2 parts about alienation depression and bulimia.

    Cheers Benny

  • excellent

  • Very well done

  • the actress is beautiful.

this was a very well made film.

    thanks.

  • That guy looks like the guy off the daily show!

  • That was a wonderful film! So many people suffer from depression, and they all feel as alone and scared as Matilda. You did a great job capturing her thoughts and emotions!

  • Some short films are worth watching??

  • that was really touching

  • good film man I loved the introduction good work!

  • Thanks for the comments, guys - good and bad :)

  • dude, the was awesome...beautiful film

  • As a fellow filmmaker take a look at my short/trailer called Tuesday Rendezvous. Thanks.

  • Good acting and shot well. However, the story was a bit predictable.

  • lols.....

  • what camera was this filmed on?

  • where is the climax? this is lame

  • i really enjoyed this. it reminded me of lynch's lost highway. keep up the good work. john

  • I love dwaine stevenson. I think he's the most handsome man on earth and he acts very well. I love it when he played sammael in gabriel. he looked so handsome!! not much about this actor is there? mmmmm i want a man like him.

  • Impressively shot, acted and chilling. The film creates a splendid metaphor for depression and succeeds in its bid to raise awareness about the condition. Sadly, as a piece of narrative film, it fails. What forces her to confront her depression? More importantly, how does she beat it? Is it enough for the lazy narrator to let us know that her depression 'went away in time'? Enjoyed the film, but felt let down by the conclusion.

  • Great.

  • this is chilling. i absolutely loved it and i think it's an amazing portrayal of depression. good job :)

  • Oh my god I love him!!! xD! Well, it's a good video about the depression. Congrats :D

  • Beautiful, very touching. Excellent work. Five stars.

  • Hi I would like to know how I can download this video as I am doing a presentation at college on depression and would really like to use this.

  • Download realplayer (the trial) and it lets you download any video off youtube.

  • Good stuff. I actually taught Daniel (the kid) in drama classes. Good to see him on film.

  • I got really scared at the dinner table part Lol.

  • me too!! I jumped when the face came in the knife thing!

  • I am a little confused I guess shes really older and uglier?

  • It is actually the depression that is causing her to really feel like that. So she was showing her child and husband what she felt.

  • That's funny.. i feel like matilda when I'm listening to the Rogue Traders

  • well done shane, pete, enzo et al. the great dwaine stevenson rocks!

  • Thanks, mate.
