  • @KKK66611100 and you're a bitch motherfucking racist ass dude commenting

  • I watched this video. I got here by Googling "African Accent" because I was curious about learning how to imitate an African accent. I'm Canadian, so my natural accent is pretty much American. As I watched this video, I repeated everything presdom2000 said. To me the African accent sounds mostly like a BBC accent, but in a deeper, lower voice, and with more rounded vowels.

  • It is true that some people try to impress others by how they sound but the truth is who we really are is more important that the impression we try to create for our character stands out on the long-term.

  • Yeah who told you your accent is sexy?? thats the truth according to cnn latest research!!!

  • You're the most REAL, open minded young Nigerian I've ever met!

  • Yes ! i'm Ibo too lol !.. Kedu ? lolz :)

  • u dey do phonee oooo

  • It seems I've come on board quite late. Subscribed and drinking the Kool-Aid. Your 'fone' is nice :-)

  • I've not watched more than 2 videos of you and I'm already subscribed as well as I love your realness and must also add you're a cutie; hey I'm a guy so got to say what's on my mind. Well, it's all true what you've said about accents it's what differentiates us and you can either have the oyinbo accent or not have it there ain't anything wrong with our native accents. I've noticed Nigerians here trying on the British accent yet murder English because they hear oyinbo speak bad english.

  • lol i love tha way u talk!!!

  • remember black people English was never your langauge. its not the worlds language. don't base anything off of it. be proud of yourself. and dont disrespect another black person regardless of where they come from regardless of their country we are all black and we are all struggling together.

  • U made a whole lot of sense. In Scotland they speak English but nothing like the one I know. I categorize them as UK Calabar ( appologies to all Calabar flks). In an attempt to communicate with them I always try to mimick them but I think I have to stop because I might end up having a wierd accent.

  • Hahaha I love this video. You are doing awesome.

  • presdom2000 i love your blogs very much..just arrived London .have heard weird accents here myself. I'm proud of you and what you are doing..it bleeds my heart really when is see some nigerians who are ashamed of identifying with home... i have always being proud of my country(even though there are many things am not proud about..)being abroad now...am even more proud of being a nigerian.

  • new sub, wao u are awsome i am so jealous now.am from imo state too.u are right in every word u said just be proud of ur accent. going to four years in us.my first time watching ur chanel and i love it.

  • i like dis gurl

  • i really like dis gurl

  • God bless you presdom2000, u r doing great.

  • first thing first, can you speak your native tongue?

  • when i came to the US ( frm Nigeria). I had problems communicating with the other kids and i attend a 99.9 percent afican American school so it was kind of hard talking to the kids there are some words that i might pronounce they would say that i don't know how to speak english sometimes, i tell them that i was taught British english, but still my grammar is much more better than the other kids. l strongly agree with your views on swithching accents, ciao.

  • I love African accents; they're so warm and lilting. The African Children's Choir came to my state once and they had the most gorgeous voices ever.

  • The slave master's knew who we were, this was the reason they changed our whole culture, faith, religion and history. How could they keep us as slaves and treat us as subhuman, and still have high praise for our scared scriptures (the bible). It was necessary that they cover up our identity, and keep it hidden.

  • Digging the vid...you seem pretty cool.I grew up without the African accent.have somewhat of an american accent and trust me it so doesnt sound fake...:)

  • nice 1 beautiful ebony queen

  • you look like bria myles in this video, ur a very pretty girl xx

  • l0l..i think yhu ve not seen phonetics, i dnt knw exactly where in america yhu are, but over here in newyork i ve a lot of african friends who try to change their accent and end up sounding so stupid. I mean we all try to change our accent a lil bit but not to dha extend of forcing it!, I ve dhis friend dat was tryin to say "am going to manhattan" and it ended up sounding lyk "am goin to man ha an", seriously its ridiculous. Anyway i luv yhur videos, its lyk am telling yhu wat to say!...l0l

  • Wharreva girl, i gorra gorro a parry anyways.

  • @tok1879 YASSSSSS LMAO

  • what tribe are u from in Nigeria?

  • @Sweetheartbabez Ibo - Imo State

  • @presdom2000 oh yea...? me tooo...

  • When I first came to the states, I dealt with the same issues. Had friends always comment on the way I said "three" as if I was saying "tree". One of my elementary school teachers even told my mom that my english was terrible. My mother nearly slapped her, but instead told her that I was speaking proper British English. It's amazing how dense oyinbos can be and assume that Africans can't speak well.

  • @NaijaAmericana Well, that's probably because we do pronounce "three" as "tree" in Nigeria. It wasn't until I got to the states that i actually knew the difference in their pronunciation.

  • I'm American and I love African accents so I wanted to learn to differentiate between them through youtube. But I pretty much only found this video.. I love Nigerian accents! I think it is the R's that I like so much.

  • I love this topic it's so real...

  • @finemayo thanks so much, i appreciate

  • That's soooo true gal. Keep speaking the way u do.
