I remember being at the recording for this. one of the producers kept on appearing on the stage after we had sung a hymn only for him to announce he had a 'message from the man in the van' (the editor) and we'd have to record an entire hymn again sometimes up to 3 times. Good old Don West conducting.

Too true! You'll be pleased to hear that they do in my Baptist church (I'm the organist!)

You'd be amazd how many visiting preachers comment on how wonderful it is to sing rousing hymns to organ, because as you say, in so many churches now that isn't done any more. They just don't know what they're missing do they.

The result is overpowering.
