Cuba always seems to be 2 or 3 steps ahead of the rest of us -whos us? cuba compared to china is in the stone age in every areabut that only means theres room for great improvementexample china once a poor nation now has world dominance in industral manufacturing ,building &growth on a never before seen speed &scale in the history of mankind
bio fuels will work -but the problem is corn is not it , example -the natural ground cover of the american bread basket is SWITCHGRASS-corn produces roughly 440gallons of fuel per acre of land &you get 1 crop a year switchgrass needs to be planted once produces 1150 gallons an acre&can get 2-3 cuttings a yearusing no extra machines than the hay gathering tools than most farmers already have you will use less farmland for fuel leaving more for food, yeah the solution is rather simple
The way I see it, the corn that is grown in the United States BELONGS to the United States. If the American people would like to burn their corn, then they are fully within their rights to do so.
If the rest of the world doesn't like this, then they can bugger off and grow their own corn.
Does the same logic apply to the US and its approach to oil and other resources that belong to other countries? How many invasions, coups, assasinatins, etc have been carried out by the US to "protect" its access to other people's resources?
none War of 1812, no Mexican War, no(Mexico fired first). Spanish American War, no (had more to do with empire than resources) WWI, no WWII, no Korea, no Vietnam, no The coup against Allende, no (had no relation to resources of any kind, although the coup did lower the price of copper) Persian Gulf War I, no (we never saw a drop of oil) Persian Gulf War II, no (once again, we haven't seen a drop) Afganishtan, no (what resources?) ¡Muera, comunista de mierda!
@dkrustyklown "If the American people would like to burn their corn, then they are fully within their rights to do so.

Since you haven't noticed, I just wanna let you know that all of Africa has been deprived of it's capability to grow anything and thus also it's access to any rain whatsoever, all thanks to the colonization period.
So, no, they can't grow their own corn, and we DO owe them our corn.
WTF do we have to do with Africa? That was Europe's mess. The Europeans carved up Africa in the 19th century, while the USA was busying conquering everything between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Ocean. So, no, the United States does not owe Africa corn. Furthermore, you use the word we, but I definitely don't owe Africa anything.
I don't even use ethanol, it's bad for your car, anyways. I'm just making the point that no one is entitled to the crops that a farmer grows.
ethenol is a fuel additive fools. octane booster and clean air additive. It well never replace oil 100%. maybe 50/50 mix at the most. The world will just have to be a little more hungery.
Yes the land of the Big Mac. Know this 1-2 dollar a day 3rd world person is not going to compete against 120 dollar oil prices when ethanol can bring 60-70 a barrel. Also there will be no way to subsidize that many people for that much of a difference. They will have to grow their own food or starve. I have my doubts when half the people now living live in cities. You have a solution?

Just a lot of talk, from another talking head
Just a little glitch, in our democracy run economies, and all this socialist, communist star salivating like babies.
Sorry.. but the only losers are you, and your "economic model" (communist misery)
you have nothing to pass to the world, butt sorrow and hate.

1. He was talking about bio fules produced on farms.
2. He wasn't talking about a political system.
3. Bio-fules are an alternative to fossil fuels.
4. He said its an economically good idea to produce bio-fules for third world countries.
In all regard I think your doing libel and he is most certainly within his freedom of speech.

Which part of the world would that be?

Its always the weakest. read Darwin and all history before the 20TH century. If alge farms prove out, we might get off oil in 20-30 years.
