so there was one parked on the side on 50st Edmonton at around 10pm it was a white van, i was going 70 in a 60 zone i spotted it about a foot away and pressed my brakes and reduced my speed to under 60 before passing it, there was no flash, did i get a ticket? do you have to be speeding when passing it to get a proper reading or dose it get you from a far?
@03jagx You didn't get a ticket. They tag you AFTER you pass them doing at least 10-12 over the speed limit (basically take a picture of your rear plate and send you a ticket in the mail a month later). No flash = No ticket
@stalkervision K Band. The city have done away with these and switched to Ka band ones. More more effective. I could detect these older ones a mile away.

@bhdhacksrus or you could be an upstanding citizen trying to make care in NOT speeding... how would you feel if "you just forgot how fast you were going" and accidentally killed a little kid?.. This city is full of speeders with NO regard for human life... don't blame the police for protecting the lives of others... grow up. be an adult.

I'm waiting till the one comes back to the park near my place and I'm going to grab my camera and continuously flash the driver. Take photos of him/her. Fuck them, do what you want. They aren't cops. EXPOSE YOURSELF... ok well that is illegal but...
In my city (Winnipeg) they are such assholes about it. On the highway it dropped down from 80 to 50 due to construction. Within 10 yards of the speed dropping EVERY DAY there was a radar car there. What pissed us off was it would be there WHEN NO ONE WAS WORKING. It is understandable if there were workers but there was none. And when there was he was no where to be seen. So one guy got mad enough to throw a brick through the guys back window (haha)
Something satisfying about watching it happen to someone else, but still just another cash cow brought to you by the "Deadmonton" police service.

In lethbridge they have it set 11 km/h over= ticket. I'm assuming its the same in Edmonton.
