You guys are stupid. It has to be powerful. If it isn't you will endure severe head trauma from hitting the dash, steering wheel, or B pillar (curtain). Before they depowered them in 1998 they were extremely powerful because they were designed to restrain a 200 lb adult without a seatbelt. Nowadays, they have decided to work with the seatbelt instead of trying to eliminate it.

your stats on airbags are amazing it is refreshing to see someone on here use facts instead of cussing at some one having said that I hate air bags they cause many wrecks but they keep that out of the media I have seen it happen many times and I have also seen an equal survival rate between seatbelts and no seatbelts both with air bags and with out so my offical stand on the topic is when its your time its your time

Yes, I agree with you. Airbags, seatbelts, and the crumple zones by themselves have minimized the amount of injuries. Nonetheless, 45,000 people still die in car accidents which is a lot but there are millions of cars registered so I guess the ratio isn't that bad. If more people stopped listening to the bullshit they hear on the news and from friends, then this country would be in a lot better shape. Everyone "rolls over" when they are told.
