Viki's multiple personalities, Marlena possessed (DAYS), Erica's pill-popping (AMC), Rachel's evil twin (AW), Reva as a ghost, then Amish (GL)... man, the leading ladies of daytime had some meaty and/or wacky material to play out in 1995!
Dorian told Viki that her father sexually abused her as a little girl for years. Viki had repressed the memories of the sexual abuse. Once Dorian told her, Viki shattered into several personalities.

I thought it was an awesome storyline...after having seen Viki's reaction to her father being alive...the situation in which she had to choose which daughter to sacrifice (I'm glad that she didn't have to make the decision, but of course we watch the soaps for the drama like this).
Not enjoy it; deal with it. Niki deals with sex better - she likes sex so that was her job. But you have to remember that all 6 personalities are just different parts of Vicki.

In fact the alter Victor tried to get Viki to commit suicide by slitting her wrist, thus killing Viki and all the other Alters. But the original storyline i believe back in the 70s suggested Dorian murdered Victor.
No, Princess shows up several times after this. She is the part of Viki that actually experienced the abuse. Through her, we begin to understand exactly what kind of monster Victor actually was.

Erika Slezak is a very gifted actress nd from what ive seen in intreviews, seems to be a remarkable human being. I enjoy watching her on One Life To Live nd she is one of my very favorate characters on the show.

Man! I remember this from back in the day! OLTL Rocked the house with Vicky's DID storyline! ES was phenomenal. I remember the Vicky/Nicky s/l as well.. The early 90's was GREAT for this show.. Unfortunately, TPTB just helped slowly decimate what was once a fabulous show.. too bad for us long time viewers who remember how good the show used to be..
Why ONE LIFE was never nominated for Outstanding Drama during the entire decade of the 90's is beyond me. This storyline, coupled with countless others from the early to mid-90's (Megan's Death, the Homophobia, Marty's Gang Rape & subsequent trial, Bo & Nora, Max & Luna, Gang Violence in Angel Square) - MAN, the show ROCKED back then!!! Erika, you ARE "One Life to Live"!
Well in my opinion, daytime Emmys - any award show is a big form of a marketing. Think of OLTL being one of those many shows that deserved it but just never got the respect that the silicon enhanced cast of Y&R or the over hyped GH still running off the fumes from the early 80's got. It is nice to say that after almost 40 years next year, ONE LIFE ratings wise has had a pretty steady one life for a soap opeara.
When I was in college, Viki had been shot and suffered a stroke. Erika Slezak's acting was so PHENOMINAL that a friend of mine called and asked me if SHE had a stroke in real-life. THAT said something.
