  • Jerry said he was terrible on the pedal steel (silly man). He also does a beautiful job on Volunteers (The Farm). This is absolutely great! Check him out on "Blows Against the Empire!" What a friggin' genius! Thank you for posting this!

  • extra cool.....yeah !..

  • This is so awesome! Jerry really shines on the steel. Have loved this since the 70's. It really can't get much better than this.

  • Fuckin' groovy! That wah-wah'd pedal steel guitar sounds at different times like a digeridoo, a dinosaur, and even bubbling bong water (at least if you use your imagination). Phoo! What a combination!

  • its candy to my ears!

  • @hookuspookus529

you got some gall coming on a dead posted video site on youtube saying the dead suck and this is jerry's only good song - got to give you that, but otherwise seems to be a pretty dumb ass comment

  • This is such an incredible performance. I happen to know the present lineup as they performed a club in Oregon that I booked and managed for 9 years. They still throw down. Jerry and John and David are killing it in this recording,

  • got to agree , a big fat blowhard , but he did make the steel talk

  • @hookuspookus529

just saw your other nerdy comments about Jerry being gay - you're a man with a mission, hey? Shopenhauer once said: If a good book and a head colIide and it sounds hollow, is it really the book's fault? Same with the music of the dead: if you don't get it, that doesn't say anything about the dead, but it says a lot about you, you sad looser. So do your nasty little messages. Embarassing and extremely uncool.

  • @hookuspookus529 How would you even know! You obviously tone deaf.

  • Psychedelic country... Man This is great.

  • did you know jerry was gay ?

  • @hookuspookus529 HAHAHAHA. Jerry wasn't gay. Where'd you hear that? Some one's having you on mate.

  • @hookuspookus529 get a life!

  • DIRTY WHITE BEAR ?

  • This song is so relevant, especially now. We're not workers. We're wage-slaves.

  • Totally ripped on Thai stick when I first heard this.

  • Kill me i fyou want, but i'm not a BIG Garcia fan. That being said, he fucking NAILED this on slide!

  • True. Nobody played pedal steel like Jerry! I worked for years to get that kinda sound on cello.

  • great song and great band with a god (Jerry) joining them.

  • PLEASE somebody, post the title cut to Gypsy Cowboy!

  • I never get tired of this one.

Incredibly decadent on that fuzz/wah pedal steel..

  • ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff!

  • @tapeatsbill Love this !! Don't forget if you like Jerry as you so obviously do there is BEAUTIFUL steel guitar on American Beauty and Workingmans (eg High Time). Don't know why in later years he stopped. As it is such a beautiful sound he makes.

  • @Poltergeist40 Hey thanks! I'll go check it as I forgot about that as well.

  • @practicaleq I dont know I kinda remember it sounded just about like this ...my older brother had some New Riders Albums and I liked quite a few of their songs and forgot all about them till recently....sadly my older brother just passed away 3 weeks ago and we were goin thru some of his stuff and found New Riders of the Purple Sage and it brought back a lot of memorys...R.I.P Mike

  • great song . . . . just a tall cool drink of water

  • It's wild how everything's all reverbed up! Is that Jerry bending those notes or is it that effects pedal marked" cyllicibin"? LOL
