  • thank you so much for putting up a demo for a pedal where the PEDAL'S capabilities are actually put on display. the majority who post this type of thing are all guitar center emploee's who want to be clapton santana. and thanks for leaving the camera in a still sensible position, and an extended thanks for not talking over this.

  • feedback is not as creamy as the sre-555, but less maintenance issues

  • this delay is so good. i mean there is so much fun to be had by plugging in different things to the loop. not to mention adding different sources to modulate the speed of the delay can be quite amazing as well. one of my favorites tho is using a my boss spring reverb box with it. you can get some incredible dub delay sounds from that combo.

i got mine for a deal so i cant complain about the price. its one piece of gear i will never sell

  • I see other people commenting on this too, but I just fail to see why this cots $700. It sounds nice, but, geez, their other pedals, which seem a lot more like synthesizer VCFs, cost about $200-$300, and this thing is bordering on the price of a LP rack.

  • I think they've priced this wrong. I mean, it sounds incredible, but you could probably get you're hands on an original 60's Space Echo or Echoplex for the same price.

  • At last, an analog delay pedal that can replicate the saturated tape effect, common with tape echo devices from the 60's.

  • Yeah its expensive, but I went through my share of delay pedals before I finally found what I was looking for in the Moogfooger. Just remember that your paying for unbeatable quality, unique sound, and quite possibly the longest analog delay availabe(a little over 1 second). C'mon, it's a MOOG FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!! It's worth it if you appreciate craftsmenship and true analog warmth. It's easily my favorite pedal I own, whith the Electro-Harmonix P.O.G. running a close second.

  • has anyone synced the delay with the rate on the moog murf? wondering if I need to upgrade my delay set up. I have a tap delay now, however, it would be sick if I could sync these two pedals.

  • Chick + Delay = Hot

  • CAN YOU SYNC THE DELAY WITH SONG TEMPO? Are there exacting detenters so that you can figure out the tempo delay formula?

    thanks

    ps - nice fingers

  • I'm shopping into this unit. very nice demo....I'm curious as to WHAT MORE THAT THIS DELAY UNIT DO THAT JUSTIFIES THE PRICE RANGE FOR A DELAY UNIT.

In other words...what can this do that regular analog delay units CAN'T?

    THANKS

  • Sounds Like the Original Star Trek Phaser or close to it... at 1:19

  • GREAT !

  • Unuseful demo.

  • Most useful demo for anyone interested in using this thing for special effects and delay artifacts rather than just for making their guitar solos sound more complicated than they actually have the skills to perform.

  • Great video

  • Not sure how this is of any use. Not that impressed by stupid noises. Why aren't there any demos of how this works. Just the same stupid robot noises over and over...I'm trying to find a reason to buy one of these but cant.

  • if you need someone else to give you a reason, chances are its not the pedal for you.

not everyone is in to these kinds of pedals and sound manipulation

  • alright jackass, i was just trying to be helpful. if you don't like it, don't post on the goddamn video.

  • hello. This is how it sounds. What you think they're pulling these sounds out of they're ass? It's a mf-104z demo. The sounds come from the mf-104z.

  • wtf are you saying? learn to speak..

  • this inspired me to write some lyrics:

oh baby, if you could only see me now

im playin with my moogie and doing a little boogie

you breath always smelt worse then the cats poogie

that i's always had to clean up

but u dont know that before we broke up i put some of it in your coffe cup

    oh baby oh baby

    IM RICK JAMES BITCH!

thankyou fans and u there at the back. thankyou, thankyou.

  • @dbenc i feel ya, i bet these arent that great actually, even though its moog and everybody is freaking over em. i've watched pretty much any fooger vid i can and they are just crap. i say save the dough and go for a doepfer modular system, it'd do a lot more

  • Cool bro I'll check them out. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Ummm-I wanted a lowpass filter for my Theremin, and - compared to the cost of a modular case and power supply, a lopass filter with VCresonance, envelope follower, external input output adapters and a VC mixer-the Moogerfooger was a bargain and I've never regretted buying it (and I already owned a Eurorack system)

  • I would'nt go as far to say they are crap, but they are definately a niche product for a select group. The build quality, sound quality, and support for these are incredible. But for anyone looking for a basic delay pedal... I'd say pass. Go get a DL4. This stuff is high end gear where your pretty much paying a huge price for a slight advantage (sometimes only one that musicians themselves can tell apart).

  • Seriously your pedals are insane!!!

  • Great video. We've been watching it here at the factory. Keep up the good work!

    The Moog Team

  • how do you guys make such amazing peddals? I need this one. The Ring Mod is unreal however.

  • I am a delay-freak, i own several like the RE-201, some Yamaha's, 2 Korg SDD's (the nicest digital ones imo), but this one is the finest on the market.

The complaint is, that it is expensive, but when those SDD's came on the market, they were the same price. you have to see it as a studiotool, and not as a stagepedal.

The Moog filters are the best there are.

    Get One!!!

  • I can't even remember how many echo/delay units I've had over the last 35 years. I got a deluxe memoryman back in the '70s because it was cheap and we couldn't afford an echoplex. They really didn't sound good. Some people romanticize the past and think 'it must be better' just because it's old. NOT USUALLY TRUE. This Moog delay is the best solid state analog delay I've ever heard and worth the price. BUY IT ONCE, BUY IT RIGHT. My fave digital delay is a PCM42 with a TC1190 2nd.

  • This is without a doubt the best delay processesor I, and many of my studio engineers, have ever heard in our life. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth every single cent, if not more. We got 2 of them for stereo, out of this world!

  • ALL my studio engineers, as well as my friends and their friends, I ment to say ;)

  • This thing is the reason there are a billion types of delay pedals reissue, blah blah blah, this is the one.

  • it sounds good but is it work 700+ dollars? what makes it so much better than like a boss delay pedal for 100 some dollars?

  • it seems like it's 100% analog, has more features, has great sound (imo), it's a MOOG - a history, Boss is ok, but is a toy

  • Not just analog, but high-quality analog (a lot of the analog delays being made nowadays use crappy Chinese chips that don't sound this good). 1 second of max delay time (that's a lot for an analog unit...most are 300ms to 500ms). And it has an effects loop that can modulate the delayed repeats, but not the original signal...meaning you can use any weird sequence of pedals you like to create a modulated delay. All those features in one pedal is a highly unique package.

  • Without a doubt the finest sounding effect box Ive ever touched in my life, and Ive been through plenty. This thing makes everything sound so much better, and even if you cant play guitar, plug this baby in and it sounds like you do just fiddling around. Worth every cent, if not more.

  • its not as good as the vintage memoryman pedal but its not bad

  • yeah right, i'd like to see the memory man's time being controlled by sample & hold, the delayed wet signal (loop) being ring modulated and sound half as good as this

  • i need something like meshuggah's delay

  • hmmm.. what what do you think,

    should i get this delay,

    or something else

i want something pink floydy or a bit trippy.

if theirs a better delay that you think i should have a look at please tell me.

  • get the line 6 dl4

    its not retro

    but its incredibly versatile

and i doesnt sound like a line 6 pedal

  • ok i'll have a look at it,

    thanks man.

  • damn i want one

  • Thats fucking awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wouldnt buy it again for sure. i got an insane deal on mine and even at that price i still feel like there are other delays that are sound better and have more features. though i'm still glad its in my arsenal. it is what it is.

  • @thedeepelement

does analog delay offer any advantage or a plugin would offer more for less $

  • @thedeepelement Hey, nice demo, was looking at buying one to hook up to my Vermona pr4mr, what other delays you think are better? Any info appreciated, cheers

  • it looks damn cool but seriously dont understand it

  • i ve got this one too...i´m pretty happy with it. but:

it´s very special. i´m not sure if i d spend that money again for it. i should have gone for a tape delay first...

many people are very impressed by that mf 104...i am impressed too, but...there are many other nice delays.

in combination with the cp 251 you can get a wonderful chorus by the way...and some very weird sounds of course.

but like i ve said...there are many other (less expensive) nice delays...this one is a very special luxury

  • so now I have to buy one. thanks bro, this is exactly what I wanted to see one of these do but no one ever does it in a demo video...

  • sweet! thank you. can't wait to play guitar through one of these.

  • Damn.

    Some crazy sounds there.

A toy that will keep you entertained for hours.

  • You're damn right! :D

  • so the short delays and long delays are on two different circuits? that sucks. one knob to go from 50 ms to 1000 would be cool, without having to use the toggle.

  • I think the reason they did that was so that you could get more precise times. If one nob did 50-1000ms you would be missing a lot

  • good point josh. I didn't even think of that. Or one GIANT knob. It seems if the circuitry were tech enough, you could still just move a huge knob a tiny bit, and get the same effect. I know that once you take a big knob off you still have the same 360 degrees.. but you can visually see the difference better when you turn a huge knob a tiny bit.

  • that thing is amazing... but not the price! i wish i could get one... but standard delays are no match!

  • im getting mine tomorow morning. pretty excited to find one for cheapish. 50 secs into this is very cool. 105 is real cool too

  • wow, you just sold me, it looks fun.
