I worship The Beatles above any other band, and I am very sceptical when it comes to accepting covers of their songs.

However, that does not mean I cannot appreciate the amazing masterpiece that is Across the Universe. The point of the movie was not to sing the songs better, or even as good as The Beatles, because no one ever will; the point was simply to make a great movie with some of the most beautiful songs in the world in it. The cast all have good voices, and I appreciate what they did.

Across the universe sucks, and they butchered the songs they performed. I have a crapload of friends who love it, and it pisses me off. I was brought into the world of Beatles awesomeness by my dad. I have loved them since, for fourteen years. I like classic rock, metal, and techno. The Beatles kick all kinds of ass, all by themselves. The Beatles should have a genre all to themselves, called "Fuckin' Awesome".
