True. I was a musician for years and never got anywhere. Then in my early 30's, I wrote a few tunes and formed a band for a goof and got a major record deal with a $150 demo and almost zero effort (they called us). Long story short we were signed and broke up within a month, before ever even recordingb our 1st album. None of us were dumb enough to think a record deal was worth a gap in employment on our resumes, and a months long tour away from our familys. It's not "poof" you're rich anymore.
It looks like they took over the local movie theater during a matinee. I sure hope they make some money from their movie. It takes a special type of retardation to keep chasing a dream after 30+ years while continually taking it up the a**hole. Meant in the nicest way possible.
That "special type of retardation" is called passion, and I think it's a shame it's lacking so much in a lot of other people/bands. This is a monumental moment in rock/metal history. Nothing of this sort has ever happened, so Anvil have proved themselves. They've earned everything they will ever achieve.
