  • I need that feeling! I wish this was REAL!

  • No wonder that it's Mary that Bert loves :D

  • 'None of your larking about!' Best film ever!

  • And I still Oink with the pig even to this day...

  • I can't wait til the Jolly Holiday Cafe opens at disneyland. i hope they play mary poppins background music in that area

  • TELEPOR'!

  • When she says 'none of your larking about' she sounds kind of Australian at the tail end of it O.o

  • Horse - "when the day is gray and ordi-NEIGH-ry!"

    Love it!

  • LOL! very rough translation of the song:

    Bert: Lets have sex.

Mary: Sorry, it's lube and tissues for you tonight.

  • @mikedrummonds Why do you have to take a perfectly good old classic and turn it into some perverted comment. I know you said it was a very rough translation but you are just sick. I love this song and when you say something like that it ruins other peoples good time.

  • @Scarlet21luvspokemon LOL! I love it to, probably for all the same reasons you and anyone else does, but fact is, for a GREAT MANY songs one can derive an overtly sexual undertone. REALLY examine this song all the way through, I guarnatee it's no exception. I didn't mean it in a bad way, if anything, I find it funny how simple the base meaning really is when you get down to it. And FYI, Bert's expression at 4:49: I can guarantee that's the look of a man dissapointed that he won't get laid.

  • @mikedrummonds Fine whatever just ruins my day to think of this song that way.

  • I miss my childhood..

  • They totally should have been a couple!!! :)

  • I cannot take my eyes off Julie Andrews - she looks stunning in that dress with the red belt and those turn of the century overlapped button boots. Somewhere in a parallel universe, I believe women still dress this classy.

  • @rjworks13 i wish they did i love that kind of formal wear in that day and wish it could of been in this day.

  • Bert: flirt?

    Mary: friendzone!

    Bert's face at 4:48 :D

  • Comment removed

  • I don't get how this scene was specifically designed to NOT imply romance between these two. It just seems to confirm it! Is that just me?

  • @kaikiyukionna27 He's sucking up to her, but her lyrics at the end 'you'd never think of pressing your advantage' = 'you'd never think of making a move'. 'A lady needn't fear when you are near', in this era of London it was still seen as improper for an unmarried woman to be alone with an unmarried man and so again it's Mary saying 'clearly nothing is going to happen'. And forbearance is restraint. This song is literally Bert hitting on Mary and Mary turning round and saying we're just friends

  • @doubleblink could it just be Mary being coy?

  • 2:49

    cane: wanna dance?

    umbrella: oh no i couldn't

cane: well you're going to anyway!

  • the ducks are funny

  • Haha! The lyrics are so freakin' 'ilarious! XD

  • I wanted them to kiss so bad

  • i love this movie and this song

  • I love that pig at 2:05!

    OINK!

  • Dick van dyke's facial expressions are just the cutest!!!!! not just in the movie but even nowadays he's adorable .

  • DICK VAN DYKE IS THE KING OF EVERYTHING!!

  • MARY WHO? NOT MARY POPPINS MARY JANE BITCHES!

  • I definitely ship these two as a couple! They're so cute. I always thought they were married or something when I was younger.

  • My name is Mary, I get this sang to me everyday day, it makes me so happy :') <3!

  • mann her waist is tiny!!

  • Bert and Mary Poppins would be the best parents... xP

  • Julie Andrews, to me, should be one of the Disney Princesses!

  • I want to find my Bert, who'll think of me as his Mary! <3

  • who would have known bert was a disney artist?h ahaha

aaah i hate the lambs.... the melody sounds too oriental for the setting.

  • @TheOffensiveuser ... oriental?? that is hardly a pentatonic scale that is being used.

  • Now THAT is REAL movie magic. :') Brings back memories!!

OMG THE DUCK TRIO!!! I'm HOME again!!!! <xD <3

  • Very much appreciated. Those two had definite chemistry in this film. This song always puts me in a good mood. I love how Dick Van Dyke was selling just barely keeping his balance on the turtle's back, even though he was a very talented dancer. And I love how Mary returned Bert's compliments-- that verse is my favorite of the song, actually. Also, is it my imagination or did Bert's cane totally kidnap Mary's umbrella?

  • how do his pants stay so clean when he is walking on his knees and tripping over farm animals. I need to get myself the detergent he uses. Maybe it's Mary's magic or Burt's charm that keeps the whites white.

  • @amcgarrell I need that for my laundry. My clothes are never as white as they should be anymore.

  • I loved this song/scene and this movie when I was a little girl....oh wait, I still do. :D

  • My dad would always put my name (Maggie) into this song when I was little. I was watching this movie with my friends, and I remembered that for the first time in years :) :) :)

  • Why are the lambs American when all the other animals in the farm are Cockney?

  • this sounds so cornish

  • am i the only one who wishes they could meet someone like bert?

  • @firemaster432 ur not alone, i want to some thing

  • @firemaster432

no, you are CERTAINLY NOT! I wish I could find someone like Bert. - sigh - He is just my type! Now all the guys I meet r usually perverted, or something like that, UGH! Not to say that SOME guys aren't like Bert at all, but it might be hard to find one. lol

  • Yeah!!!!

  • Mary and Bert ride turtles and it's entertainment..... I ride a turtle and it's a court case from PETA........

  • infinite smiles for posting this MAGIC TREASURE!!!! :):):):)

what a world IF ALLL LIVED this MAGIC :):):):)

  • The Sherman Bros. are sheer genius. Dick Van Dyke appeared on Leno 5/11/11 performed this song and danced at 85. Hope y'all saw it.

  • are 17 people in a coma, what were THEY watching??

  • Watch In hq

  • DONALD FAISON SENT ME HERE

  • 505- Even bond cant do that.

  • Surprisingly I really like bert's voice. It's fun.

  • pause around 4:30, she sounds like shes saying "bloody"

  • Dick Van Dyke's ''cockney'' accent is really bad, but he's so awesome, I don't mind. He can take any bad accent he wants. :P

  • Oh I remember this <3

  • Love Bert's expression at 4:48.....

  • shes beautiful as alaways

  • i'm guessing Bert knows Mary from his childhood days but i'm more curious at whether or not he has a crush or something...

Mary is so graceful and elegant. (^^)

Bert is a gentleman and funny...

  • @ladyiris12 from imdb: "Original author P.L. Travers was adamant that in the film there should be no suggestions of any kind of romance between Mary Poppins and Bert. This is explicitly referenced in the song "Jolly Holiday"."

  • @ladyiris12 as for my opinion, i believe bert may have a one-sided crush, or maybe he used to, but they've both grown to think of each other as best friends, almost like brother/sister even.

  • why doesn't he pronounce the H's?

  • 4:48 i thought she was saying your sweet genitilia =/

  • @SquantoThePenguin Disgusting.

  • @SquantoThePenguin Ahahahahahaha you just made me laugh for a good day or so!!! hahaha thank you!!!

  • that pig is the best. I laugh so muchXD

  • Why did you stop it right before the penguin dance? That is like the best part!

  • I love this song...Mary does make the sun shine brighter...especially when i smoke her.

  • I love love love their outfits in this scene. Just adorable, and so very classy.

  • I forgot how could this was. I havent seen it in ages. I loved it as a kid. The music is wonderful.

  • @ADyingFaith Good not could

  • surely those 17 dislikes had to be accidents, cuz to truly dislike this would be inhuman.

  • @PheonixRising2988 Completely agree.

  • 17 Dislikes?? These are 17 horrid people indeed.

  • Awhh even his cane and her umbrella liked each other.

  • I remember the premiere showing of this movie on its first run. It was rainy that late afternoon, people did have umbrellas while standing in line around the corner. The atmosphere inside was mesmerizing since these were the days of single screen, and everybody was focused on this one movie. Now I have the 2-disc anniversary edition, and love the behing the scene extras, with Julie & Dick plus composer Sherman. Wore out the original vinyl record sountrack, & also had the Marni Nixon record too!

  • not as good as snow white does the seven dwalfs

  • dis just copy nanny mcfee

  • @goombamario1 nanny mcphee came out after this dumbass

  • @goombamario1 whether one considers the movies or the books on which they were based, Mary Poppins predates Nanny McPhee by 30 to 40 years

  • @goombamario1 this came first you moron!

  • she left becuase she brought there family back together so they did not need her anymore ... plus she was getting attached...

  • ha!! bert got the moves lols.

  • this song never fails to get me in the Christmas spirit

  • @Misskayseeluvsu because its a holiday with mary! LOL :P

  • Friend Zone - The Musical

  • Ha, Ha, love Dick's accent, bless him.

  • i always felt a little bad for bert, he soo liked her but her main concern would always be the children. his face when she sings 'your sweet gentility etc' is hilarious though lolol poor bert.

oh and the animals singing is the cutest! LOVE the geese :p 'appiness is bloomin all around 'er!

  • @setsuna2021

I knew I wasn't the only one who saw that! That little grin when she's telling him how great he is. The slightly puzzled look when she tells him how he'll never press his advantage. Then the fallen face altogether when she finishes telling him how he's just a great friend. Zoned!

  • I like to sing this song in the shower

  • I love his accent^^ best film ever!

  • Hrm...this song implies that in England, only women know how to pronounce the letter H.

  • I'd love to know what Cockney's Dick Van Dyke listened to to get that accent.....

  • Kinda sad that it seems like Bert never really got Mary. I mean, she always have to disappear and he never knows when she'll come back. Got to be tough being in love with Mary Poppins...

  • why do i always laugh at the pig...

  • when it said 'gentility'

    i thought it said gentalia.

  • *giggles softly, recalling this day* One of my favorite memories you know! Bert hasn't changed a bit, had he?

  • *giggles softly, recalling this day* One of my favorite memories you know!

  • Julie Andrews + Dick Van Dyke = match made in Heaven!!!!!

  • dick van dyke all the way <3 xx :)

  • When I was little, I thought he said "or a bluebird sky".

  • I think she called him Gay at the end, and I think he was getting a little upset. lol

  • I love Dick...he's perfect! <3

  • Its a jolly holiday with my fine wife...

  • @1MormonT good comment dude marrage rules!!!!

  • Jolly Holiday also includes the sequence with the penguins

  • Comment removed

  • this player taught me my best moves.

  • mary poppins was in my erotic dreams since I was a child

  • @lordrandal90 O_O

  • One of my favourite moments in the movie.

  • those are some jacked turtles!!

  • I love Classic Disney

  • I shall continue to be a gentlemen

  • set back in the days when woman were ladies and men were Gentlemen

  • @MrGrog88 Yeah. I agree with the more equal rights now, but people were defo more respectful then.

  • @MrGrog88 yeah, before women had the vote.

  • @MrGrog88 now we got whores and rapists.

  • @Stad122 true

  • @MrGrog88 chivalry needs to make a return :/

  • I miss how movies used to be.

    Now-a-days, disney movies are cheesy.

  • this movie made me actually believe that english people's accent is like this, although i prefer marie's accent, sounds much more sexier

  • I love the lambs at: 1:49 too cute and the Pig at 2:06

  • *SIGH* I want love to be like this someday :)

  • @DreamersGirl66 I agree!!! =D

  • That nanny is abandoning her charges, LOL!

  • Sweeet!

  • those geese are marni nixon

  • Bert gets friend-zoned. Lol.

  • @sinbin55671 lol, he was delt the friend card, poor blue balls Bert! I'd do him.

  • bert and mary do belong with eachother :P

  • the song gets its perfect melody and spontaneity when julie andrews gives her voice in her unique style;hallmark of a genius.

  • i love this film :)

  • Am I the only one who feels sorry for the turtle Bert is standing on?

  • I think that if Mary was with Burt, she wouldn't be able to be a nanny to needy kids since only unmarried women/widows were generally nannies in those days. She chooses her love of kids over her love for Bert but of course he understands. Bert's such a great guy.

I should probably just read the books.

  • oh they love each other.............I never picked that up as a child

  • I love Julie and Dick!!!

  • i like it!!!

  • gotta love Dick VanDyck's signature high-step :)

  • which would make Mary a cougar

  • @MattRichproductions What I picked up from this movie is that she has been a nanny before met him liked him and evrytime she sees him the relation grows.

  • Am I the only one that is curious on how Bert knows Mary? I'm beginning to think 'magical' nannies never age. So now I'm starting to think that Bert had Mary as a nanny when he was a kid (=

Julie Andrews is just practically perfect in every way, and not to mention very gorgeous. And I LOVE Dick van Dyke, he is amazing, and still up and going, even though he is in his 80s!

  • @cupicaik124 I always thought that.

  • @cupicaik124 if you listen to the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious song bert mentions he learnt the word as a child because his dad would "tweek his nose" so i think she was his nanny

  • @cupicaik124 my theory is Mary is an angel from Heaven, and Bert is a former angel who lives on Earth.

and who doesn't love these two? I'll tell who, communists...and nazis....and communist nazis.

  • @cnicholson06

    Hahaha *claps* well said!

  • Mary Poppins is an idot. Bert confesses his love so many times in this song.

  • I think she's just playing hard to get

  • Julie Andrews is adorable!!

  • This was always - and still is - my favourite kids film. Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are just legendary here and whatever else they do, they will always be remembered fondly for this film.

  • Haha Dick van Dyke even admits in an interview that he did a horrible accent. If you watch the movie very closely, in some scences he has a cockney accent, and in others its American. Either way I love him.

I've always thought Mary & Bert would be the CUTEST couple ever, I mean come on- even her umbrella, and his cane were in love!!

  • What a cool umbrella! ;)

  • i love Marys outfit in this, I wish i could dress like that these days! :(

  • Oh Bert and his fake 'cockney' accent (:

  • I love this song!!

  • Awhh brings back so many memories this movie is amazing! I remember the penguins coming in after the last scene hihi ^^

  • wow this came out in 64 and I was born in 97 but I grew up with this movie O.O

  • lol at the guys english accent....its so bad !

  • I love her dress! x

  • I think people could wear it today, lordranda!..except that you could get bolied about it...or laught at! But I think you could wear it today! I would love too, be in a play were you should be in such a custum as Mary! And I do like it too, Freckles2185!

  • please culd someone post mary's quotes too...

  • i sing this song on the shower almost all the time.

  • pretty

  • This song has a very strong sense of admiration to Mary.

  • hey those farm animals are on Beauty and the Beast!

  • omg yes!!

  • anyone recognize the farm animals? ill give u all a hint....101

  • i looooooooooooooooove the costumes! so well done, great fabrics, am great colours!
