  • i love seeing a 4 cylinder jap car running under 10s, when u see 8 cylinder american cars running the same

  • yeah except those japs are built to the hilt and the domestics are generally budget built cars with mild motors.

  • lots of those domestics, spent the same amount a time or even longer, and possibly money too.

  • the domestics that have this much money in them run 7's and 8's. your talking what, 35k for the car, another 30-40k in parts. just assuming all the labor was free. weve got a chassis car nova 8 second car {on a really bad day} that wouldnt be a drop in the bucket compared to the money spent on the evo. im not hating. its just reality. id be willing to bet our motor last a bit longer too ;) my dsm is only about 600hp and i know for a fact i could have gone faster cheaper if i wanted pig iron.

  • domestics have more then 30-40k, to run 7s, espasily older ones, i havent seen a 4 cylinder car run 7s, but i have seen 6cylinder japanese cars run 7s, im not denying that eventually at a point when putting parts in, a 8 cylinder while beable to out run a 4cylinder, im was just saying its nice to see a 4 cylinder running same time as many 8 cylinders, with as much time in them

  • if you have never seen a 4 cylinder import run 7's check out brent rau or john shepard. and work on that math, ur lookin at an 80 thousand dollar car by the time youve built an evo, for that cash you could have built an 8 second vega, and bought a truck and trailer to tow it to the track with plus paid for gas and donuts getting there ;)

  • you never built anything have you? the cars we build are scratch built, have way more shit than a drag car ever will and we can SELL a 1000+ hp turbo ls1 powered car for 70k. thats with a sequential gear box.

  • yeah ive always been curious why you dont see more 4 banger rails/rear engine dragsters. i see a couple vw powered ones and a neon motored one here and there. maybe a good way to revive the dying (dead) import drag scene. the underdog factor has always been what draws me to the imports. doing more with less is way more satisfying.

  • i agree with the more with less, and what not, but i get drawn to imports for fast corners, i think its more fun having fast corners then a fast straight, im more of a circuit fan as a drag fan myself, but iguess thats y i love tuners more

  • yeah we used to race scca nissan 240 gt3 gt1 jag and speed(vision) cup porsche's at my old shop, which is cool but not my kind of people. now i work for some guys racing CORR pro2/4 which seems to be alot of fun. fast, tight corners and jumps! and of course the prolites are probably the most fun to watch with there little 4 bangers.

  • CORR = championship off road racing. pretty bad ass. Look for adrian cenni on here and youll find us. or corr pro 2 /pro 4. they are 1000hp {claimed} tube chassis trucks with shitloads of suspension. we race on a 70% dirt track thats alot like a motocross track. its like a hybrid of motocross and nascar, but without all those pesky rules.
