He's 15, which is young for a cockatoo. They live to be about 100. I adopted him at age 5, which is when a lot of folks start getting rid of parrots. Their "terrible twos" last about a decade. Most people can't handle it. When I rescued him, he had no feathers except on his head, a sign of mental illness from lack of stimulation. Most have grown back now and he seems happy but I know he'd like a mate. I wish I could find an aviary where he could roam free and have bird relationships. Sweet baby.
