I'm a community college student studying alcohol & chemical dependency. As part of a group project on the effects of psychoactive chemicals on the hippocampus, I'm making a video as part of our presentation. I'm assuming the makers of this video would have no problem with me taking a little part of it to use in my class presentation?
SO the amygdaloid is part of hippocampus? i thought the fornix connects the hippocampus to the mammilary body? it doesnt seem to show that on the model
Is it just me or does this guy point to the amygdala and say "and here is the hippocampus" I know they're close... but he like points right at the amygdala and says here is the hippocampus. i just think thats weird. And is it just me, or does this dude not say one brain stem structure even though the title of this video is "brain stem model..."
Really useful! Would be nice to look at the model from a few different angles though to help get a better mental image of how the things relate to each other. Thanks!
Very cool video!!!... Could you sping that model a little bit next time so we can have a better perspective plz.. sometimes we need to see the same thing from different angles so we can fully understand it
thank you so much ,I have just known the hippocampi continuously conects to the fornix. It will be helpful if you will teach by using the MRI images because it is hardly to see and measure the hippocampus size in MRI image in epileptic patient.
it is exellent.. but one thing that not clear.. is it medial view?? if it is medial view that how hippocampus can be seen here?? please any one reply.. i shall be thankful
This is a lateral view of a three dimensional model. If this were a sagittal two dimensional section, you are right, you would not be able to see the hippocampus. In other words, the hippocampus is isolated from the temporal lobe in which it resides and is extending out towards the viewer in this particular set-up.
@Helper890 This study model represents the 3-dimensional internal structure of the brain and brain stem (with the cerebral cortex removed for better illustration), not the medial view. Therefore, the hippocampys (one core structure of the temporal lobe) can be seen here. Hope that helps.
hey does the hippocampus get any loss of activity after the lesion of the corpus callosum?? and does the brainstem get damage or reduce or what happen to it after the separation of hemispheres??..

Who is the manufacturer or distributer of this brain model? I am looking for a model with a detachable hippocampus and this one looks perfect!

The Pathway in a little details:
Amygdaloid Body>Pes Hippocampi > Hippocampus > Fimbria Hippocampi>Gyrus Fasciolaris> Fornix Crus> Fornix Body> Fornix Column> Mammillary Body> Thalamus
