@tht707 The same happened to me. I have just heard of them and I could saw them in "The wings of desire/The sky over Berlin", the Wim Wenders' film. I could heard them before of seeing this sequence, which is astounding for me.
@cybernaut667 It really is one of the best Ost's ever. I think this soundtrack redefined the very same concept of what a soundtrack for a film could be. Most of all, because great part of the themes are specially made for the film, 'cause Wenders asked to each group projecting themselves on how they could probably sound in 1999, being in 1990. At least, is a musical concept that marries very well with the film.
the film is a masterpiece. it's hard to understand it, cause it is not a comedie!!!
it's an amazing journey to the end of the world, which is the journey to one's subconscious. This is an answer to the ones saying that is a crap movie. Everybody though is entitled to his\her opinion,
All the masterpieces need their time and digging. Wim Wenders is not a hollywood director, he is a true cinema artist, and can be compared easily to fellini and the other greats.
@alexantis1 Well, you are right in that matter. I think Wenders had a great idea that he couldn't develop so well. It was like if he wanted to make a film-novel, for the extension.
For me this is one of the films that has great soundtrack themes. The idea for all the musicians, back in 1990, was to imagine themselves how they would be playing in 1999. And here we have it. This theme is one of my favourites.
@alexantis1 I woul really like to know what Wenders was thinking before he made this film. I admire his enthusasm to achive it. There was a 8 hrs. long version of this film, but if the 5 hrs really doesn't have any other stuff to enhace the original concept, the shorter version (2hrs and a half) gives you the concept of story very well. I don't know, some hates him some other loves him. I love this film and his music, plain and simple.
@001tape You are welcome! I love this film so much, too. In Mexico has just been exhibited for the first time in its 280 minutes version. I was so delighted to see it entirely.
One of the most accomplished songs of Simon Bonney and Crime & The City Solution.
Because of this soundtrack I discovered their work.

Between ideals and fact
Between the thought and the act
You sink without trace
Grow to hate your face
Will you sell all you own
To sit in a shadow by a throne
Will you run to me, run to me, run to me?
