  • Thanks for the video.

  • Hi,

    Fab footage and it was also a very interesting documentary on BBC2 last night.

    We are looking to go in May and assume you got there via the bikes.

    We have been given three different ways;

    The Eurotunnel and blat down via Calais. (30 mins)

    Dover to Calais (1 hour on the ferry)

    Portsmouth to La Havre (8 hrs on the ferry but you cut out the 4 hour journey down)

    In your opinion, which is the best route to take?

    Thanks in advance.

  • From where we both live, Dover is around 5 hrs away. I did Newhaven to Le Harve in 2007 and this year in April Portsmouth Cherbourg. You might like to try Speedferries at £15.00 one way....

    Keep in touch

    Nigel

  • Portsmouth Cherbourg takes 5 to 6 hours. a lot less of a strain than driving down from Calais

  • It was found by Gary Sterne, i used to work with him years ago. Im hoping to get over there this year to see it...an amazing find that sheds new lite on the history of d-day.
