Wow, these look fantastic. Love the cumin/cilantro idea. I've never dipped anything that many times but they look like they came out wonderfully! Thanks.
@MommyLovesBigBoys Hello! Twice dipping on this one is a must as it will not adhere to the veg. with one coating (hence the refrigeration for a bit). Third coating is a personal choice to get a real crunch going on. Yes, a nice combo on the ingredients that work really well together. I have a few recipes on variable stuffings but we enjoy this one the best. Thank you! KtC
@StealthTacticsClan lol I like the ritzs but I do not recall trying them with salsa before. I suppose whatever is available does the tick with those things. Thank you for watching a few vids.
@pandmonium2k7 Yeah, the fresh garden peppers are the best. I prepare a few batches of hot sauce too. The hot weather has been great for my peppers but I am worried about some of the cucumbers as they do not like the heat as much. Have a great weekend Gary! cheers mate, KtC
Just made this recipe. Added onions and celery into the cheese mix and onion + garlic powder into a seasoned dredging flower. But the cumin was the real star! Really brought everything together, super great idea!
@Hippolord Certainly room to mix it up to a personal taste. The cumin does work well in there. I haven't had these in awhile. I may make them today as I just picked a bunch of peppers from the garden. Thanks! KtC
Not sure cumin is the best choice, but interesting. Any tips for how to properly coat the flour-dredged poppers back in the egg/milk? All of the flour comes out. And I agree with many people, the music stinks, at least lower it.
@AGameProductions Cumin is a good fit, Not really uncommon in a pooper. Some flour will come off on the first dredge but not all. Hence the second coating after the first breadcrumb. The chill is the main thing as it will cause everything to stick on there better. If there is still a problem (there shouldn't be) then try chilling just after the first flour part, then continue and again chill after the second final coating of breadcrumb.
@AGameProductions As for the tune. Just mute and whistle your favourite tune. After 484 vids. I am not going to change it now for a few. It is about the food here. The votes came back a year or so ago to unanimously keep it as is. cheers, KtC
@currymakersuperfly Well that sounds interesting. Certainly a popular herb in some parts. I use it regularly in variable foods. I wonder if a bit of curry powder in the crumbs would work (and the mint). Interesting. I will make note and have to try a few with the mint and then some curry powder perhaps. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day! KtC
made these over winter break, liked the first batch so much that I went back to the store and bought up all their jalapeños. Now I have 30 premade goodies sitting in my freezer. Great Recipe!
@GrnEyedBandit77 A good recipe and fairly authentic with respect to traditional poppers. Some may prefer to blanche the peppers first (boil a couple of minutes) before the breading, but I prefer not too!
I've seen this dish for the very first time. But this must be very delicious. I was so surprised and screamed in Japanese. Wait, I'll get my hashi and try one. Don't let anyone eat till I get there!!!
dont eat that shit! I tried this recipe and next morning i was crying on the bathroom. My ass was on fire. I assure you that my ass was really on fire.
@blazedgator15 It will work fine. Try any cheese (Monterey Jack would go well). Some work better than others but there is only one way to find out :) cheers! KtC
What are the proportions for the ingredients? Like for the cheese mixture? And would it taste as good if I were to bake it instead of frying it? It really looks tasty! But I'm trying to stay away from fried foods.
Main ingredient is cream cheese. 6oz. cream cheese/ 1/4 cup chedder, 1/2 tsp. of cilantro and cumin. Add more cilantro if you want. There are no rules to this one but yes, easy on the cumin.
lol. Well it only took about ten minutes then :) There should be something here for everyone. And yes, some better than others. The poppers are one of my fav. too. Thank you. cheers! KtC
Thank you. Some are certainly better than others but I try to provide a guidline or an alternative 'spin' on basic foods. We all got to eat. Have a great day! KtC

These poppers are a party hit! I made a few batches with broiling the jalapeno first to make it a bit tender (you could pan fry too) both were a hit! Oh, and sweet and spicy dipping sauce seemed to be the favorite.
thanks for this! this is the best recipe,. because i wanted flour AND bread crumb coating, and i liked the egg mixture. thanks so much. i'm making these tommorow for sunday lunch!! :-)
Hi! It is not wierd or unusual, quite common for such foods. The jam is a quick fix. Try a bit of hot pepper sauce with the jam (or a hot mustard) mix together well. wow, that looks good. 2 questions..
1. Are they really hot? I don't like hot hot as in spicy...I am more a mild kind of guy
2. When you say chill, is that fridge or freezer chill?
Thanks for your time...Hope to hear back from ya :)

Jalapeño aren't hot at all; very mild
I would imagine refrigerator
KWarren7 2 years ago
the majority of the heat lives in the white stems inside and the seeds. Get rid of those and they have a very mild "spicey" heat.
