Aurora borealis disproves the nuclear gravity space theory and immediately proves the electromagnetic space theory. Look it up, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
-Superintendant Chalmers: "Aurora Borealis, at this time of day, at this time of year, in this part of the country localized entirely in your kitchen?"
-Prinicpal Skinner: "Yes."
-Superintendant Chalmers: "May I see it?"
-Principal Skinner: "No."
-Mrs. Skinner: "Seymour, the house is on fire!"
-Principal Skinner: "No mother, it's just the northern lights!"
I saw the weirdest Aurora Borealis tonight in Ottawa, Canada... at around 1 30am they were really bright orange, bright white and bright light blue... they didn't look like the usual, it actually looked like light beams going into the forest behind my house like aliens were up-ducting something... it made me think twice at first... but it was really cool to experience something like this! wish someone could have joined me for a nice fatty ;)
Its time to wake my friend and realize the the Earth is a living entity and just like you have an Aura around you body, so does Earth, and I am not a kid
Do you not find odd, the the two words 'Aura- Aurora' are so similar?
'Charged particles fro the Sun enter the Earths magnetic field'......bla... bla Your theory is wrong. 'Aurora' is the Aura of this Planetary body we call Earth and rises from within the core of the Earth from an opening in the north pole. The Sun has nothing to do with the illumination as seeing in the dark sky
@FOATE When I was little I usta actually think it was the reflection of the light bouncing off the water/glaciers in Alaska up into the sky. It kinda looks like water rippling in the sky. I think that is time lapse tho? iv never seen it move that fast.
I grew up taking them for granted, it seemed perfectly natural to look out the window of my bedroom at night and see them. Now I live too far south and haven't seen them in years. I miss them.
having been raised in NW Ontario - these were wonderful and some times you were able to hear them crackling - one of the things missed most about there
in what part was probably taken the video of this ? cuz not in all places WHERE is visible the aurora borealis, is showed as the full space as the video is !
@monkeyuncle9 what are you talking about? we need global warming to do what? The magnetic field of our poles deflects the solar wind which would otherwise strip away our atmosphere. Global warming doesn't protect us the magentic poles do, you idiot.
People like you shouldn't be allowed to have computers to pollute the minds of other idiots like yourself. Go away and study physics for five years or so. You idiot.
@kid43332 yeh the whole reason you can see the light is because it travels through parts of the ozone layer that are weaker than others. Global warming causes the weakening of the ozone layer.
this was a response to exchangeisno's statement saying that global warming has nothing to do with it and that I was an idiot. top 2 percent in my state
I remember 6 years ago when I was in 4th grade, I was at a halloween hay ride at a church, and the sky was lit up at a bright orange color while it was going on 10PM and everyone was wondering what it was and later on the news they said it was the aurora borealis, it was one of the most amazing things I've seen in my life, and the fact it happened in PA
Nice little informative video. I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis, even if it means braving the snow drifts of Alaska to do it. Ah, it isn't anything I haven't dealt with before, being a Michigan native. I got it all planned: plenty of blankets that I'll take to the well heated, rented cabin on Bear Lake (which is supposed to be a great spot) telescope for general stargazing, and about a dozen different cameras to document the experience. Then probably back to YouTube and make a vid.
I grew up in Nome, Alaska and the legend there is that if you whistled at the lights they'd come down and take you away. We used to tempt fate and whistle at them and then run inside as fast as we could.
this is amazing...i have seen this fenomen last year..it's wonderful..first time i tought that is some aliens but now i know this is aurora borealis...that happend in my country ,in Roumania
I've seen Aurora Borealis in South Finland when i was about 5. Im now 16 and i haven't seen these for loooong time. I have a small flashback about that :) Theres no so much Aurora Borealis in finland nowadays :(
@idealoser oh so when she distinctly said "charged particles from the sun" what she could have meant is that maybe it's made of sugar and spice and everything nice?
@zezima12301 u r lucky enough that u got to see such a natural show. from nowonwards i wuld be longing to see dis natural enigma along with amazon forests.
The explanation given here is outdated and wrong. There seem to be serveral mechanisms responsible for auroras, some of which are not yet properly understood.
The most intuitive of the mechanisms is that of magnetic reconnection: Earth's magnetotail (a long loop of magnetic fields pushed away from the sun by the solar wind) is squeezed by the interplanetary magnetic field until opposing field lines snap together. This releases energy, which produces aurorae.
@jarlz0r not to mention nobody has ever really been to the top of the north pole and the governments of the nations dont allow explorations by palanes or boats to the north pole so nobody really knows whats up there.
Complete bullshit. The location of the North pole changes from year to year as earth's magnetic iron core fluctuates. There are multiple teams that have been tracking it for decades. You could travel there yourself. It's currently at about 82.7°N 114.4°W and moving toward Russia. As for the geographic north pole, no one's preventing you from reaching that either, except for the fact that it's in the middle of the arctic ocean. Tourist companies will fly you in if you like.
I seen This a few weeks ago, It was the most BEAUTIFUL thing I have EVER seen, It was at 3 in the morning, I tried waking up my parents But they didnt wake up and I'm the only one who saw them.
the best places to see auroras are near the magnetic poles. These include areas of northern Greenland, the Scandinavian coast, Siberia and Alaska in the north, and Antarctica in the south.
