  • Try RecordMyDesktop or GTK-RecordMyDesktop. With the right settings, you will get good framerates.

  • Yes but in this old vids my laptop ran slowly due to XGL now with the same Acer aspire 5600 no probs with Ubuntu Jaunty.

    7.04 (Feisty) ---> 9.04 (Jaunty)

Long road to next release Karmic (can't wait for 9.10^^)

  • Im sorry, but it just pisses me off when people don't use screencapture and film it with a camera. I'm using Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex and Compiz-fusion also.

  • Ok but as i mentionned later in comments i have a too low framerate when recording it. Now since my hardware especialy graphic card is fully supported i can screencapture but anyway who cares about Youtube disk space??

  • haha watching Weeds i love that show

  • Because the framerate is too low due to my hardware :)

  • I can't think of a single good reason to record this with a camera instead of capturing it directly from the computer.

  • Bouncy! :O)

  • If your an ubuntu fan please join my group! Im really looking for ubuntu fans to join the UbuntCoummunity!

  • Man... Please tell me how to install this without having to wipe out my HDD!

I'd gladly give up Vista for Ubuntu 7.10 with all your addons! However I really want a tutorial because I'm a newbie with Linux. Thanks for your time :D

J'aurais pu le dire en francais mais c'est peut etre plus convenable pour les autres s'ils lisent ce commentaire et veulent en savoir plus, autant que moi :P Merci bcp nbonnici!

  • Look up Wubi, it will let you install from within Windows.

The next version of Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) will include Wubi on the disc.

Wubi does have slightly reduced performance though.

  • What do you mean by reduced performance? What will there not be on 8.04 that there is on 7.10? :S

    Thanks for replying though

  • I don't mean reduced performance with 8.04 compared to 7.10, I mean reduced performance installing Ubuntu using Wubi rather than a native install, its only very minor. Mostly it will be reading stuff from disc, so opening apps might be slightly slower but as I said, not by much.

Its because Wubi installs its own filesystem on the Window filesystem rather than just directly to the drive.

  • Oh, I see. Thanks for the tip.

  • cool

  • oops my bad dude i marked you're comment as spam :|

  • sweeeeet! thx for the vid :)

  • hold the frikkin camera still!

  • It's because XGL slow down too much the recording and so the framerate is too low when rec.
