The frosted mug doesn't help. The frost melts and waters down the beer further.

If you really look into it, the " old country" style yeast is what sets the flavor apart. Good beer cheap price and this is not even my go to beer, but a good fail safe.

this is a great party beer/bbq beer. easy to chug, and a very mild taste. honestly not that bad, i was surprised. sure it's no dogfish head or guinness, but it was still really good for a cheep beer.

Thanks for the review. I just recently started buying Miller High Life, and like it as well. I was wondering if you can help me with something. I was wondering if you know of particular beers that give you headache, after only consuming 2 or 3.  I noticed that Busch gives me a terrible headache. I can see from looking around online that many other people have complained about that as well with products from Anheuser Busch. Is it the preservatives that cause headaches?

Try reviewing Lost Lake, not my favorite but then I like smooth tasting spotted cow! Lost lake is a cheap Oshkosh WI brewed beer but hard to find... my 60yr old father loves it and bought 20 cases at $7.99 a case to take down to Florida for his winter getaway... yes he is a very conservative guy but by no means has to be lol

This really is great for the money. As a broke college student, I definitely prefer this over other cheap beers.

Can you recommend any really, really hoppy cheap beers? I have tried Icehouse which is very cheap and hoppy. I loved the taste, but it gave me raging beer shits which lasted until noon the next day, so no more Icehouse for me. Anyway what would you recommend that is cheap, dark, and hoppy? Thanks for any advice man and keep the reviews coming!

Pete - I enjoy the reviews. Miller High Life is the beer of choice in my garage refrigerator. By the way, you're right about the preservatives in Bud products. Not only does Bud give me world class headaches, it causes a horrifying case of "Bud Mud" the next day...

It's a great anytime beer. Bubbly and with very little if any after taste or bitterness. It isn't the best beer in the world but I rate it high on the drinkability scale for everyday consumption that won't break your wallet.

I have always liked Miller High Life. If I was stuck on an island and could have only one type beer it would be this. Great with any food....burgers, chinese, pizza. It is great for that smooth, all day, drunken stooper.....I am serious.

Miller High Life is good (in the can). The clear bottle can allow the beer to spoil. But, all in all, High Life holds its own against other major beer brands. I like it.

I don't drink beer very often, but when I do I usually go for Budweiser. I absolutely love the tart taste of Bud, and being a bit of a novice I don't know if that's hops or barley or whatever.

I can say that the Budweiser most often gives me a horrible headache though.

Anyway, I had a couple dollars left over and decided to go get some Miller High Life after seeing this review. It's not so bad so far, but we will see in a few hours if it gives me a headache.

Good review, I like High Life. I'm glad you kept it honest. It's a cheap beer, and it really doesn't taste that bad. A good yardwork beer. What I can't stand is, someone reviewing High Life and grading it like if it were a Bass or Sam Adams. No need for beer snobs reviewing cheap beers. Mixcat you told it the way it is.. Good one.

I just finished a high life 40. I haven't had one in a while. Certainly is cheap. I think I paid less than 2 bucks. I was shopping around for a 6 pack of something good, but everything was 8 or 9 bucks. Seems like beer prices are really going up. At least I can live the high life.

As for flavor, meh. Maybe, if there's a next time, I'll try for the frosted mug. It pretty much like drinking water. Luckily, the buzz is reasonable enough. Maybe I can ride it to sleep and problem solved.

5.0 beer next state all taste better, even super light Coors Bullet at Indy Race was excellent. I bootlegged a case to compare, 3.2 taste sour and bitter and flat not crisp at all.

Depression, Economic, special beer review... I love it! I used to drink this stuff by the gallon when I was young(er) and broke.  I moved up to craft beer and wouldn't touch it with a stick now though.

I try to review only oddball craft beers but I applaud anyone who can still drink the "champagne of beers" with a straight face... Nice job!

btw, where can I get more info about BMC and their preservative usage?

MGD is the same recipe as High Life, the only difference is MGD uses "cold filtering".

Best beer for the price imo.
