To the first question: depends on what I had for breakfast.
To the second question: depends on what machine I'm operating that day.
To the third question: Neither.
One comment to you: I've worked for several different companies over the few years that I've been uploading videos here. That's part of the reason for all the different machines.
is there a float on the blade? I can operate a dozer but i have never gotten the forward rolling flat or level blade operation. In other words i am able to move piles of debris or dirt but not level it - i am not an operator but i would like to know the secret to it
I only operated this cat on one small job, and never got around to seeing if it had a float on it.
At any rate, I'm not a dozer specialist; I'm more of an excavator guy. But as far as leveling and grading, I just keep a close eye on the blade and what I'm pushing, and the rest is by feeling the feedback of the machine and listening to the engine, etc.
I don't think there's any real secret to it, riceski; it's more a matter of practice, practice, and more practice - lots of time in the operator's seat.
If you can, try to find a good operator who can coach you on this, out on the field. You may have to pay someone to do this, if you can afford it. Otherwise, a course at a local operating school can help, if it isn't some schyster school.
I'm a Deere man myself , But I prefer the CAT's when it comes to small Dozer's. We've got a 450-H at my work, But I like the CAT-D5 better . My brother always says to me " Gonna run the kitty cat today Dave " Lol!!!
It wasn't native dirt, but a few truck loads of 3/4 inch minus road mulch that we had delivered to the site. Around here, the dirt is in a lot of different colors.
is that a 3 way blade ?
