heard this live at the weekend in howden-fantastic! despite grainger's inclusion in his Linclonshire posy, Rufford is in Sherwood Forest near where i grew up; although relating to a real incident, is there an echo here of the much older taleof Robin hood behind it?

Nice version, but John Goodluck's of Suffolk is better its got more feeling. Give it a spin.

I'm not so keen on this version. I much prefer the one sung by Nic Jones. I found it Itunes, won't listen to any other versions after hearing his rendition :)

Best version I've heard...absolutely beautiful.. I can see why Grainger included it in Lincolnshire Posy if this folk song was part of his inspiration
