Hart, mit welcher Technik wir Deutschen damals schon Autos hatten die sogar schneller waren als der heutige Bugatti Veyron Supersport. ^^ Die Aerodynamik hatte das beim Auto Union möglich gemacht und dann nur mit knapp der hälfte der Leistung vom Bugatti. Respekt an unsere damaligen Autohersteller. ^^

Ich verwalte seit Jahren die heute leer stehende Auto Union AG Konzernzentrale in Chemnitz wo u. a. die legendären Silberpfeile entwickelt wurden. Gerne hätte ich dahin einmal eine Oldtimerfahrt organisiert.

It is still the fastest anybody has ever driven on public roads.

Ok, the land speed record was higher even back then but all those records were taken on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Malcolm Campbell already did 485km/h in 1935 with his Bluebird, and by 1938 Eyston's Thunderbolt and Cobb's Railton Special both were pushing the record from 501km/h to 575km/h in just two years.

Anyway Mercedes was designing the T80 but the war stopped the project.
