  • Is Steve Upton on drums?

  • real rock n' roll over here

  • we recorded a live version of this for our "live at the Budokan" LP in77 What a brilliant song from a brilliant band!

  • Nostalgia has me in her grips. This was one of my favorite bands in the 70's. and they still did this stuff into nearly the 90's? Classical rock intelligence.

  • Can some one tell me is this still the line up that made the Album "Argus"? I can tell the drummer is different just wondering if the guitarists are still the same. Thanks.

  • @cmikex2 This is the original bands original members. Steve upton is on drums.

  • My band used to play all their songs in the late 70's. wow! miss those days!

  • sounded good in the 70's still rockn Keep it up el conkeestador

  • For me, Mark Birch captures the songs solo the best.

  • turned up the treble too much in this recording

  • Such a fine band.

  • would love to see them play here in ireland

  • On tour in Germany in february 2011 - a MUST see

    2011-02-21 Hamburg, Fabrik

    2011-02-22 Kiel, Pumpe

    ...

  • I'm a big fan of Wishbone Ash.

  • me encantan totalmente es como algo googleantes

  • No one combined English Folk music with Rock like Wishbone Ash (even though few have tried) Wishbone Ash is one of my favorite bands of all time. I remember being 9,10,11 sitting down with my guitar and my Argus CD figuring out The King Will Come.

  • @SlickSmooth22 iron maiden and garz moore did

  • @SlickSmooth22

Interesting assertion, quite commendable. I like this band very much, I saw them in the late 70's. There is a lot of hope in their music, which is not always the case. But what is your take on Jethro Tull, and, even more on the folk side, Steeleye Span? Have they not contributed big time to the combination you are referring to? (although Tull added even more elements to their one of a kind mix)

  • ted must have been pissed off when that prs got nicked.

  • This is one of the most influential guitar (learning how to play) bands when I was in my teens thru 30's. They are totally un-rewarded, under-rated, and un-publicized.

  • Saw Martin Turners Wishbone Ash last night, superb music, brilliant.

  • I used to listen this tune a lot in my 20's in Japan. I'm 58 years now but still love the tune. One of the best tune in music history. great band.

  • takes me back to that place...

  • I was born in 89' and wishbone ash are my fav band ever for guitar tones and quality musical compositions.

  • I´ve listened to side 1 of this album 100 times - both on vinyl and CD the last 30 years. It´s on my top-10 albums ever, and especially this tune. Facinating guitar-riffs.

  • fuck shit smoking, this is great thing, you don't need extras to sink deep within

    excelent melodies

  • I first heard this band in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1975 and just converted their 33's to disc. Man I still love'em. It brought back a lot of good memories of laying on the side of a hill in the moonlit skies of Malay-see-ah smokin' one with my friends Brad, Pat and brother Mark.

  • Just heard this song...tagged to a homemade surf movie. That sound combined with some damned goos waves was sweet to see!! I can't get the song outta my head

  • Wishbone Ash are a marvelous group.

I seen them play this live in Birkenhead.

They're still amazing even to this day.

  • one of the greatest riffs of all time from probably the best rock album of the 70's!

  • Remember seeing these guys several times over back in the 70s they were an awesome and great epic band very underated for their musical contribution to the Industry and the dou guitar persona.

  • I just discovered this band. Sad that I've never heard of this genius band till now

  • this is as good as rock music gets-God bless Ash!

  • my friend I used to work with Robert turned me on to Wishbone Ash, he made me a cd or 2... they sould so familliar, cuz they were the front runners - 1st! people imitate them!

It is awesome they wrote a song about the Return of Jesus, too! WoW, I didn't know that. Interesting & great sound.

    BTW are you ready??

  • Great twin lead guitar. Very much underated. Had the pleasure of seeing them in concert in Germany in 1978. One of my Army buddies turned me on to them. I'm glad he did. I guess I prefer Laurie as the other lead guitar.

  • THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OF THIS ERA. INCREDIBLE LIVE. THEIR GUITAR WORK WAS SECOND TO NONE.I LOVED THIS BAND. I WAS INTO PROGRESSIVE ROCK, BUT THESE GUYS WERE UP THERE WITH ALL THE BANDS I LIKED. (Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, ELP, Camel, etc. etc.)

  • What a guitarsound!

    Great!!! Amazing!

  • Mind-blowing stuff

  • I prefer Ted Turner than Laurie Wisenfield. He had more feeling. Too bad he left again after this reunion.

  • they used to open with this. they got your attention and held it!!!!

  • I didnt hear this song for over 25 years and since some months I NEED to hear it at least once a week! I am adicted to it.

    "simply irresistible"

  • Yea, Wishbone Ash songs tend to do that to a person. Can't get enough.

  • its timeless and Im really glad young people are smart enough to appreciate it.

  • seen these guys twice and i'm only 20 braaaappp.

    Rock on!

  • Wishbone Ash's music had the power to take you to distant, wondrous places, innit so?

  • absolutely!

  • This is just lovely,, Argus and the wishbone ash again..

  • Oh Man! The Audio Level Justs ROCKS! On my piddly azz Shadio Rack $44 'puter speakers!

    Thanks! saintsluggo!!!!!!!!!!

  • super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Pure magic! Saw them at Demontfort Hall, Leicester on or about 1979. Was one of the best concerts I've been to.

  • The Flyin' V Baybee! :)

  • remembering the road. lost friends, and fresh wind just looking the sun...

  • Excellent Thanks for posting

  • Only TOP!!!

  • They sure do keep commin' back! :)

  • This is the original WA lineup, from the early 70's, they got back together from 1987 until about 1990. Marin Turner was a great vocalist. One of the greatest bands of all time.

  • it rocks!!!!o yeah

  • Anyone could tell me the reason of the name of the band?

  • Nothing really.

They wrote several different names down on pieces of paper (in a flat in North London I think) pulled out 'Ash' and 'Wishbone' and the rest is history...

  • wishbone is the bone of hope. It's a forked bone and when it's been broken in 2 parts by two persons, the one with the biggest part has his wishes fulfilled. This is the meaning of Wisbone Ash.

  • Wishbone Ash, anyone can explain me the reason of the name of the band? They are fabulous. Thank You Saintsluggo

  • one of the best songs ever

  • Argus is definitely the most underrated rock album ever

  • Que rajouter,Génial...........

  • in a generation wher emusic is computer generated and screaming. its good to remember that theres still some real guitar palyer out there... rock!

  • fantastic song from a superb band.

  • I can watch this and all the over versions over and over again...I grew up listening to this ...superb doesn't even come close when trying to describe it

  • Such an amazing performance but such a great band. Wishbone Ash are forgotten legends because too many are listening to emo crap and hip hop crap.

  • I did an interview with Steve Upton in 1988 and that is certainly him on the drums - great original line up reunion too bad it did not last.

  • wishbone ash- argus o yea!!

  • WHAT A GUITARIST

  • FRANKn818 go see your porno movies far away idiot... this is music why do you put that on coments? idiot..

  • Listened to Pilgrimage 100 times with King and the rest, awesome memories.....

  • one of the greatest intros i have ever heard. The two guitars sound magnificent together, through out the song.

  • SO glad to see Ted Turner back where he belonged. But is that Steve Upton on drums or somebody else? I saw video elsewhere of a "reunion" they had with a fill-in drummer round about this time.

  • That's definitely Steve Upton. ;-)

  • their best song

  • One of the best livebands

    I love it

  • I always did love Wishbone Ash, but then I just figured they disappeared after the invasion of disco and formula rock. I'm so glad to know that I was wrong. Rock on Wishbone Ash.

  • Its sad, the last of the great bands, then kiss like corporate greed filtered into the music industry. I know,I was there in the 70s when kiss opened for Wishbone ash..

  • Awsome!

  • Wishbone rules!

  • Now THIS is Wishbone Ash, I wish the reunion could have lasted longer. By far the best line-up.

  • This song embodies the essence of the early/mid 70s like no other song.

  • I love this track!

  • Ted Turner is sexy!!!

  • That was wonderful. A guitar classic if ever there was one.
