  • awesome groove )

  • Awesome, just awesome.

  • Heavy duty powerhouse playing !!!

    JST Raaawks :)

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan reborn ! He is now a woman and called Joanne Shaw Taylor ! Fabulous !!!

  • She does know her way around a guitar, but I wouldn't call what's she's playing here "blues."

  • @deanlisi Cause rock n roll is about being perfect all the time?

  • sloppy

  • Un-be-lieveable.... everytime I see her I am more impressed!

  • JOANNE CAN PLAY SOME SERIOUS GUITAR ''INCREDABLE''

  • men this is excelent !!

  • She's million times better than the serbian chick anna popa or whatever her name is. anna popa has a nice ass but thats about it.

  • Rude Mood starts at 5:35

  • Damn! Read about her in Guitar Player and now I'm on my way to iTunes. She's got the chops.

  • Top notch. Nice to see a Tele getting a workover, and a pretty lady playing the blues.

I'm gonna get one of her records now. Sorry I mean CDs or downloads. Showing my age.

  • Joanne is one cool, confident & talented young lady. She has a wicked groove & is easy on the eye. I predict a big future for her.

  • really brilliant, but tried too hard with the rude mood which spoilt it a bit. she should play that really fast SRV lick.

  • How can you play it too fast! Stevie played it faster on his accoustic version. I think this is a credible version of a really difficult number from someone who obviousley loves SRV

  • Yes.

  • Not a bad version of rude mood but I think she played it too fast

  • oh-my-god! AMAZING

  • She is damn good! Just bought this album-knockout!

  • She's awesome.The girl just rocks!She is better then most that I've heard.Why isn't

she more famous????Does she have to marry an Allman Bro.

  • Precious few can actually play this stuff at full speed. Joanne is divine. Has been ever since I first learned about her almost a decade ago.

  • Love her Telecaster sound, my old Tele NEVER sounded that good, although our bass player at the time always asked me if I would turn the trebble down a bit on my old Marshall. I told hime I could but I woudn't!

  • I just saw this girl play a great gig in the Glasgow academy. It's a treat 2 actually see a musician who really enjoys what they do for a living.Great songs and brilliant guitar playing and 2 all the non believers out there she can really play.Get out and support Joanne because she's gonna be huge. The support was a guy called P.A.U.L who was also outstanding..

  • If she plays like that for the whole concert that guitar is going to catch fire

  • She is awesome.......going to Virginia Beach to see her in Sept. Would love to see her play with Anna Popavich!!!!!

  • Woww,,, can't wait to hear her play at Winthrop!! awesome playing!!

  • OMFG Can Joanne play or what? That Tele is taking an absolute beating!!!

  • (*Here in the mud-belt, we have good reason to discount country & western so-called "blues" from Texas!)

  • @lart1990. Why do you think it's "weird to see a woman play the blues?" Dude, to me it's weird to see a woman play the blues BETTER than any man who ever came from Texas, including SRV!

  • @ChezKiva not better than SRV she's in that style but not better

  • @daviejtube95 I'm just having fun. It's a standing joke,--PLAYERS from TEXAS-- that is! And, in all seriousness, who could imagine -- ANY Brit --ever learning to play "real DELTA blues"... ?

Nevermind how she sounds, at least she's got a really cool old Tele, mate!

  • @ChezKiva us brits i play muddy waters bbking albert king that sort of thing but in more a zeppelin style wouldn't dare attempt delta. well a tele's nice but i like a les paul or a strat!

  • I'm not a player, but I've had a couple of nice axes. Made an exact copy of a 61'Tele, (one pick-up,) using real parts, and new swamp-ash blank. It sounded better than my '64 black w/maple- Deluxe. Had an awesome,Yamaha /Les Paul that got stolen in LA., and an absolutely dull sounding cherry SG.

Two 'euro-players' who impress me the most are Mme K, and Louis Bertignac. NOT because they have awesome skill, like Joanne, but because they use the instrument differently...

  • Just enjoy the music....doesn't matter where one is born and raised...IT'S ABOUT the BLUES and I for one appreciate the time and trouble anyone puts in to be able to play as well as she does!!!!

  • She can play and I'd pay to see her. Keep her the hell away from helicopters.

  • @scottcampbell1958 omg i just laffed so hard at that, but it is true, bc srv died from a chopper

  • So she can play the guitar but she's got the stage presence of a pot plant. Heard the hype but NOT impressed

  • what's wrong with a pot plant? lol,She Rocks!

  • @RossGAnderson What's wrong with a pot plant,lol,she just ROCKS!

  • good

  • hiya

  • hey gk6854 what is up with you and UK blues guitarists? Calm down! There would be NO blues guitarists anywhere in the world were it not for the Black American Blues Players-none of whom were from the UK- further, neither is Walter Trout or Henry Coco Montoya for that matter but let's not split hairs. Certainly, the UK players you did name are all excellent guitarists but none of them came up with the blues all by themselves did they? No, they copied, some added, but none created the blues.

  • robiandolo - Check out Debbie Davies and Danille from Trampled Under Foot

  • Going to see her in a couple weeks

  • she is really good. still dunno about a woman playing the blues though. weird

  • Brickie55 wrote: "guitarists like this are rare, and in the UK rarer still."

Do names like Eric Clapton, Walter Trout or Coco Montaya mean anything to you? Those three greats played with the same band- John Mayall's Blues Breakers. How about Jimmy Page or Jeff Beck? Those two with Clapton, each played with the Yardbirds. What about Pete Townsend? I could go on, but why? You see my point.

The UK is not some vast wasteland lacking talented blues guitarists nor talented guitarists in general.

  • nice work. as a professional guitarist playen' the blues for a million years, i dig this lady. obviously enjoys what she does.

thanks joanne for keeping the blues alive, you rock!

  • i saw hwre 2006 ,i was blowing away..as an SRV,,hendrix f.popa chubby fan--i say im now j shaw taylor fan this girl rocks

  • stillwild must live somewhere around New Orleans where all the greats go to get spotted, but i would assure him that guitarists like this are rare, and in the UK rarer still.

  • Does the name Eric Clapton mean anything to you? How about Jimmy Page or Jeff Beck? Those two with Clapton, each played with the Yardbirds in the UK. What about Pete Townsend? Have you ever heard of Mark Knopfler or Matt Schofield? I could go on, but why? You see my point.

  • nice tele , nice indeed,oh & your fricken bad too.

  • seen her live and she IS GOOD...

  • Part of playing the blues is the way you paly them and your body language. she's great and has mojo1 shes hot to boot! I'll bet there are more female blues players than you think and they don't come to trhe front. i just found Joanne about 20 mins ago thru amazon. great find.

  • Blues is a woman.

  • She is a bad mo'fo.

  • Blonde Blues

  • awesome..... looking forward to seeing her at Canal House soon!

  • the hair tossing kinda and fancy hand moves make her seem sort of phony. She sounds like a lot of the good local guitar players in my area, but nothing mind=blowng. But it's nice to see a chick play lead on a telecaster.

  • Right on!

  • Need to get Joanne up to Iowa!!!!

  • i think she is overated/sensationalised caus shes a woman, ive seen heaps of players all over the net playing better tex style blues but they remain unheard. sure this woman can play and she does it well but stuff like the woman SRV and stuff, shes not THAT good

  • @cripplicious

Because she's female it's much harder, point me to an unsigned or minor label guitarist on youtube who can write original blues, sing and play like JST where people are willing go out and pay go on show me one

  • Blimey she`s brill...

  • Play the blues, Girl!

  • Wholly #$%&! I jus got skooled!

  • Wow.

  • Hope to see Joanne in Austin soon.

  • SRV - Woman version, good

  • SRV - Woman version

  • Clapton should put her on the next Crossroads show...

  • Sounds great

  • i live 2 minutes from where the cowpie blues festival was and I am still beating myself up for not going. she headlined, and I missed one hell of a show

  • Damn she absolutely tears up the fretboard, what a talent!!!!

  • She is playing in Whippany NJ October 10th --- Splatter Concerts, they are on FaceBook --- Intimate venue, good food.

  • girls a down n dirty player. Bravo my sister from another mister

  • that girl can shred

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!!

  • report Tele abuse...wow

  • awesome!

  • Friggin awesome!!!

  • well, I am off to see her tonight if I am lucky...

  • @lewran

saw her at aldershot on friday, awesome. should have been headlining. enjoy the gig

    tricky

  • @trickyhammer38 she was very good, loved the way she smiles when halfway up the fret during a solo... class act I must say.

  • She is amazing i feel in love that day i saw her!

Going to see her and Oli Brown next month, hope they have a guitar duel =)

  • Cool blues woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just saw her at TampaBay bluesFest - freakin awesome!

  • I dont suppose anyone knows where one of those guitar straps could be bought ??

  • I'm a guitar player myself. All I can say is, I can prbly bench more than her. Seriously though, good f-ing version.

  • She is amazing!

  • SRV has been reincarnated as a white woman from the Midlands!!

  • @lak71 and he even remembers his songs ;-)

  • I have just bought her album and recommend it !!

  • Bass player sounds like a guy with Johnny Winter

  • OMG a smokin babe that plays the blues dont get

    better than that

  • The Best thing about JoAnne is how much fun and joy she expresses when she plays...LOL

  • I'd tap that...

  • I was stood next to Paul Lamb watching this at Colne, this set was the end of the afternoon sessions, and Paul had just finished his set. I'd gone across to see him with the Kingsnakes, but this was the highlight of the festival for me.

  • Wow, she's incredible!

  • Rude Mood ain't been played this well since the last time Stevie Ray played it!

  • Once in a lifetime someone like Joanne comes along and makes you so happy to share the same evening, love the Flintstones bit.

  • wow, that is super sexy!

  • Hey everybody!!! watch this thru till the end, Great Stuff, a bit of SRV.

  • she's got it what ever it is she got it keep on going

  • It's called MOJO and she certainly has it in spades.

My personal favorite of the "new blood's"

saw her tonight at the Boom Boom Club, she actually exited me, and i told her so after the gig.

    Such talent for the blues.

  • Glad you were able to tell her how great she was! And how lucky you were to see her. Wish I'd been there.

  • I'm sure she tours Canada, I know she was in Detroit last week.

  • Sweet!
