  • jnipp71 How is debate being stifled?

You are acting like the Obama administration has got troops rounding up these protesters. You said you where at the protest. That means there are protests so the debate is alive and kicking even though most anti healthcare protesters are not in the debate. They are away with the fairies talking about how healthcare equals totalitarian tyranny and the prelude to death camps. Sheer lunacy.

  • I never said I was at a protest. I was at a town hall. The only protest I have ever been to was a union march to protest unfair treatment. I have seen elected officials refuse to take questions that the answers reflected unfavorably for the passage of the healthcare bill. This is disheartening because it is as though the Democrats are refusing to listen to the people. They seem to have a goal and an agenda that they are going to do no matter what the people want.

  • Western Europe and the UK has universal healthcare and we are not tyrannies. Far from it.

You can debate the pros and cons of a public option but saying Obamas reforms are a slippery slope towards the gulag is just utter nonsense.

I don't know why any of this nonsensical shit is gaining any traction. The American right is in meltdown but a very scary meltdown that could see violence on the streets and Palin as the next president. Scary shit

  • What a nutter, Obama hasn't been in power for long and they are acting like they have been under a tyrannical fascistic regime for decades. So he's a libertarian and doesn't believe in taxation, why wasn't he protesting when he was taxed to pay for the war in Iraq?

  • Anyway America is a democracy, if you are a libertarian and the libertarian candidate loses the election you have to accept that the winner of the election will implement certain policies you disagree with.

The answer is to vote Obama out not hint at a desire for violent revolution barely a year into his administration. Glenn Beck and Fox have a lot to answer for.

  • Chris Matthews is a piece of shit

  • If only the German Stormtroopers were still around.

  • Chris Matthews is a blubbering dumbass.

  • the guy in the yellow shirt speaks good stuff and the nwes guy is a bugger

  • I wonder what yall crackers will say when me and my niggas start bringing choppas to these town hall meetings. Fuck all yall racist sons of bitches. Yall can bring all the loaded guns you want to, but if you touch obama, we are going fuck all yall up. B.F.M.S. GIT EM UP BITCH!

  • Norincshoota - Waddaya gotta say about the black Libertarian at the Obama Phoenix VFW speech now, huh? People are rising up against the Obama administration's encroachment on our liberties by displaying one of the most fundamental Constitutional rights - to bear arms. I acknowledge that there are racists out there that don't like Obama because he is half black, but I and the vast majority of others are not. What did the handgun-carrying "cracker" say that would be deemed racist?

  • Get a LIFE dude !

  • Bring it and find out.

  • 1000 red necks with guns at a townhall meeting? Thats a party!

  • All I know is, had this happened 5 years ago, this motherfucker would have been bagged up. Now we have an opportunity for civil doscourse in this country because the current administration, like 'em or not, doesn't throttle the voice of dissent, and we get this douche bag. If he thinks he has it so bad, let him try that shit in Russia.

  • This is on State Run channel so it should be discounted right off the bat but what Matthews isn't getting is that this guys gun might have worried people from Midtown or LA, but it doesn't worry people from his area. It's a different place.

And why is Matthews shouting over the protester? Isn't that 'Unamerican'?

  • The guy is just exercising his basic rights.

  • WHYYYYY does everybody think Obama is such a great speaker. He mumbles and if the teleprompter breaks he is like Bambi in the headlights. I know it's off topic but UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Just admit that your a racist, dipshit, dumb motherfucker.

  • I dont believe the policies of the current administration...

Where in ^ that statement, was anything that led you to believe that I am racist?

  • The protester is absolutely right. And he knows what is doing.

Is Matthews who needs to go back to college and not only read but UNDERSTAND american history.

  • You are a jackass.

  • Because the main stream media thinks we no longer have the right to protest or speak out against our government now that they have a communist president in office.

  • What your doing is not protesting, it is disrupting the democratic process, get a clue dumbfuck.

  • So the Democratic process is "I (government official) talk, you listen!"?

  • No the Democratic process is to talk about the problem and debate, what the town hall meetings are about, not scream and shout like a children, like the "protesters" are doing. Were were you motherfuckers when the bailouts were passed? Oh yeah, sucking republican dick. I know people like you can't be reasoned with, so don't bother responding.

  • You make a lot of prejudicial assumptions about me. That's probably the result of listening to too much Immortal Technique. Where was I when the bailouts were passed? I was doing everything I could to convince my friends and relatives that Obama is a communist that we don't need. Same as I am today. If you want to debate, debate - don't race-bate. Race baiting is a fallacious strategy that will get any of us beat in a real debate.

  • Which democratic process was disrupted? And how was it disrupted?

  • "Mainstream media"? I guess Fox News isn't mainstream, huh? This has nothing to do with healthcare and everything to do with the "angry white male" being angry at something intangible. Today it's healthcare, Obama's birth certificate tomorrow it'll be Obama's etc, etc.

  • I really don't care what Fox News has to say about anything. I've been to a townhall meeting along with my friends and family. All of us supported Obama last year. Yet here we are a year later being treated like our voices don't count on this issue because we disagree. I am not an angry white male. I'm and angry American. Angry that dissent is stifled rather than its causes explored, discussed or even considered. More angry today than 2 years ago. I don't believe in his "change" now.

  • I stand corrected. I voted for Obama, and while I'm very disappointed so far, I look back and, considering the alternative, still believe I made the best choice at that time. It's so disturbing to see that he is just a tool, like Bush and Clinton before him.

  • Why the heck is this guy trying to make him look crazy

  • This guy did nothing wrong. He did not break the law.

  • Im shocked that he is the only one carrying.... not that the media is freaking out about it.
