Hello, the equation is simple enough. There will always be poverty in the world so long as there are people out there stacking up on the world's wealth, getting money they won't even enjoy in their lifetime!!! Thats just rediculous.

She showed me the poor people of this world. She's going to make men heroes. We dream of being superman, saving the world from evil, but when did we realize we'd be knee deep in shit helping the poor?
In the dream I was Neo (matrix movie). To help the poor and hurt is to conquer the matrix.
The problem is not so much the money - after all the top nations give away billions of dollars yearly in aid. The problem is that corruption eats it all away before it gets to the common man. If you want to change the world sponsor a child 30 a month or write through amnesty international. It will do more long term good than another concert to help militiant governments build their armies and opress their people. Some of the greatest famines in the last 100 years have been man made.

I think that is a little harsh. I agree with you that they need our knowledge, though, but not all poor people are lazy. If we want to help the hungry, it is best to give them a cow not a cup. The key thing there, though, is that we need to give.

Actually not all of our resources are finte. That would only be true in a closed system. As far as agriculture is concerned, the Earth is an open system for example the ecosystem gets it's energy from the Sun, which is a vast energy source. If you also consider information a resource, its clear that it too is not finite.
