Another element based life however is very plausible. I bet I could at least get a great sci-fi novel out of that concept. =)

i believe that moon Europa is much much more promising to find life in solar system then anything else. if there is really liquid ocean under the ice shell then you have lots of warm water protected by ice from radiation. it cant get any better in solar systems than that other then conditions on Earth.. all other candidates are just to extreme. even if there is something alive deep in Mars it will take ages go have base there and dig for it. much easier for a small probe is to dig true ice.
there is no life at all on titan and if there ever will be it will be so far in the future that none of us will get to see it. Oh and by "us" I dont even mean people living now I mean any human.

Additionally, the surface temperature -179 degrees Celsius - if you've ever gone for a walk in the dead of winter, you know that breathing cold air on earth can be uncomfortable. The temperature of the nitrogen on titan would make it unbreathable without being heated up -- a process that would be costly.
When it comes to air for life support humans coud in fact stay much longer on the moon for example then the 3 days of apollo. A space craft today with the size of apollo coud sustain a astronaut for years on the surface due to hightech technologies that keeps pressurized air very very pressurized. It is more the mental and physical assault that forces nasa to take shorter missions then possible. Astronauts wanna get back from hell to earth aswell if it was their call.
if nasa is also capable of recycling atmosphere directly outside trough a fan in the suit for example. I dont think they can approach it that way because of lack on technology. So therefore they probably wont be able to directly use nitrogen out of the air. They first need to filter all the dangerous gasses out of the nitrogen air (belive me, titan is not only nitrogen and contains very hazardous gases) and we simply have no machines to do this yet. So the question to your asnwer is yes and no.

It makes no difference. Technology allows to recycle atmosphere (even if oxygen gets formed into carbon dioxide) it can all be recycled into oxygen or nitrogen. Its expensive equipment but guess what, nasa is expensive.
So by the time theyre out of airpressure they get back to base (spacecraft) refill it and empty all the nitrogen and carbon dioxide that was consumed back into a recycling machine. The air you breath out in a spacesuit is not sent outside but remains into a bag

Neptune's largest moon, Triton, which is VERY odd, orbits backwards (retrograde). It has plumes (geysers) of nitrogen that can reach 5 miles high! Io is also fascinating! Titan's features are awesome! It rains methane & falls as slow as snow. It has hydrocarbon lakes, rivers, & shorelines too. Geologically active moons interest me!

I don't know, but seems pretty obvious that the bible is not a book about science but rather our spiritual selfs. I don't think God will be telling stories of blue-skinned aliens from Titan to a group of Jews in Israel back 2000 yrs ago. They will be absolutely lost! I believe God will just simplify things to only teach what was relevant then. He doesn't see the point to teach us science, we have to figure that out ourselves. Science shouldn't contradict God, since God wasn't talking about it.

A fantasy idea of mine is; what if life was not restricted to dependancy on a hydrological cycle? What if life could evolve in a methanological system? It has been suggested (perhaps proven) that bacteria can survive in even the most servere conditions of deep space. perhaps there are other forms of life more adapted to far colder temperatures. I bet I could at least get a great sci-fi novel out of that concept. =)

i believe that moon Europa is much much more promising to find life in solar system then anything else. if there is really liquid ocean under the ice shell then you have lots of warm water protected by ice from radiation. it cant get any better in solar systems than that other then conditions on Earth.. all other candidates are just to extreme. even if there is something alive deep in Mars it will take ages go have base there and dig for it. much easier for a small probe is to dig true ice.

Titan's atmosphere contains trace amounts of hydrogen cyanide, so unless that was filtered out, using nitrogen from the atmosphere wouldn't work. Additionally, the surface temperature -179 degrees Celsius - if you've ever gone for a walk in the dead of winter, you know that breathing cold air on earth can be uncomfortable. The temperature of the nitrogen on titan would make it unbreathable without being heated up -- a process that would be costly.

When it comes to air for life support humans coud in fact stay much longer on the moon for example then the 3 days of apollo. A space craft today with the size of apollo coud sustain a astronaut for years on the surface due to hightech technologies that keeps pressurized air very very pressurized. It is more the mental and physical assault that forces nasa to take shorter missions then possible. Astronauts wanna get back from hell to earth aswell if it was their call.

if nasa is also capable of recycling atmosphere directly outside trough a fan in the suit for example. I dont think they can approach it that way because of lack on technology. So therefore they probably wont be able to directly use nitrogen out of the air. They first need to filter all the dangerous gasses out of the nitrogen air (belive me, titan is not only nitrogen and contains very hazardous gases) and we simply have no machines to do this yet. So the question to your asnwer is yes and no.

It makes no difference. Technology allows to recycle atmosphere (even if oxygen gets formed into carbon dioxide) it can all be recycled into oxygen or nitrogen. Its expensive equipment but guess what, nasa is expensive.
So by the time theyre out of airpressure they get back to base (spacecraft) refill it and empty all the nitrogen and carbon dioxide that was consumed back into a recycling machine. The air you breath out in a spacesuit is not sent outside but remains into a bag

@alterbr33d No, since much of the nitrogen is mixed with other gases like methane. If the mission were to take the nitrogen, they would have to take in the methane as well, which is at a deadly dose. Furthermore, distillating the nitrogen would probably take too much effort. But good point though...
