  • One of my fave bands of all time....cool as fuck. 'nuf said!!

  • They guys have balls.

  • I saw them once. They came on stage in body paint and loin cloths and sat down on stage with a very short tape loop playing. They then did nothing until removed by security so the next band could play. Incredible band

  • Of all the bands I missed in the 80's the VP's hurt the most!

  • This is incredible. I feel like I'm listening to a Gothic version of Gabriel-era Genesis!

  • its so beautyfull it hurts my heart always...

  • QUALITY.

Never see or hear anything like this again, They broke the mould. My heart is with them always.

  • GENIOUS

  • GENEOUS

  • its such an excellent performance ,

    oh my....

    b.brecht would have been proud

  • To have an irish band with this much to say in such way that has never been done before, this band opened doors for theatrical and dark shows. Thank you Guggi, Gavin, Dav-id, Mary, Dick, and Strongmna

  • Gavin and Guggi were soooo in advance still today the most original and talented band ever.

  • they were and still are fucking brilliant !

  • YEAHYA!

  • Crazy New Wave !! Live it !!

  • !!!ah yeah!!!

  • brill, great, where is their equal, natural talent, play it loud man.

  • @garyana007 I wish!:)

  • Virgin Prunes were fantastic!

  • i've just recently come accros them and they've become my favorite performers by far. there's a lot in their music i find that i like. i had no idea that they've been around as long as they have. awesome shit!

  • @gengerlane They released 3 full length albums, If I die, I die.... , A New Form Of Beayty and Heresy. Theres also "...And the moon looked down and laughed" , but i believe that came out after they had split. So also with "Over The Rainbow" All between 1980 and 1983.

  • @Trgr66 Please correct me if i'm wrong.

  • It's al very "Absoultely Fabulous"

I remember it being so hard to come by any of their stuff back in Australia in the early 80s... so glad I've since been able to buy all their albums on CD, and access live footage such as this!

  • beautiful as ever!!!!

  • Bauhaus and Virgin Prunes... Best bands ever. Seen nothing like it the past 20 years!

  • @YvesB1

I agree. I would add The Fall to that list.

  • These guys and Bauhaus were the begining of the GOTH trend.

    GARY NUMAN? PLEASE!

NO ONE has EVER matched the creativity, theatrics, or the unique sound of the PRUNES.

    GOD BLESS THE PRUNES!!!

  • Sorry Lobotomyu, but you're in the wrong bit of the playground. And I imagine Gary Numan would be (clear your throat) upset too.

This is way, way, way different. Not that I'd dis Da Numan.

Can I comment that the actual music is wonderful? This was borderline pop in the 80s.

(I say "borderline" like it's a criticism. It isn't. I absolutely adore this!)

  • I have been on Gary Numans tour bus:) he wasn't there but it was spick and bloody span, this wa not pop in the 80's nobody heard of VP except the very cool ie ME! lol:)

  • I have a couple of albums of them, Heresy is my favorite. I never saw a video of them before, Fuc.@# awsome ! Thanks

  • My favourite is either A New Form Of Beauty, or ...If I Die, I die. Heresy is very good too, have that. Im happy that they finally reliesed those on cd. All their most important and best recordings. Ciao from OSLO

  • This band really deserve cred for being ahead of their time. They have theatric elements in their stage performances, that wasnt very common in 82-83.Please correct me if im wrong. And musically, theres nothing like this band. They're in a league of their own. Oh yuoeahh i love virgin prunes. TRGR66666666

  • *cough cough "Gary Numan *cough cough

  • @LobotomyO yes, i loved Tubeway Army as well. Esp. Replicas.

  • @Trgr66 yup

  • Yeah, this is so great! i saw them performing this in Nijmegen. Still remember it very well, music, sounds, colours and the smell of oranges.... Virgin Prunes are so great!

  • Thanx for posting!!

  • I had a bootleg of this on VHS from a market in the 80s. The picture quality sucked, it's good to see it in colour and without drop outs.

Cheers for uploading a decent copy :-D
