I have been searching for this song since 8 years, since when I heard this song in one of the National Level Technical Programme conducted in MEPCO SCHELNK Engg College of Viruda Nagar, Tamilanadu. Finally I had it today.
@whatever3009 Not a complaint.. But it was unfair as this features famous musicians singing each line...I know this will be taken by most of the people as linguistic comment..But what is said is true, any true music lover would agree..I will hear any songs in any language.. Yesudas is the only Indian singer who sang in almost all language except assameese, Konkani and Kashmiri & 7 times National award winner! Accept only it if you like!

why is it that people like him look at the bad stuff and not the good stuff. we indians discovered zero, we discovered the big band theory and with bravery kicked those white asses. corruption, poverty was all because of the white asses and we dont have medals because we people are studious and get money by using brains which lasts longer unlike the white asses who strive for money. the poor people ar the whites not us!!!

@ali566 when Tagore wrote this song & gave music to it (in 1911) - he did not do it for present day India - BUT the erstwhile "undivided India". So, in many ways this belongs equally to Pakistan & Bangladesh.
Notice when they sing "Punjab Sindh" - that is where Tagore was mentioning the region of present-day Pakistan.
I come from Hong Kong and I don't really understand the lyrics. But this song has a great melody !
