Among many other things, Christian scripture and tradition affirm the legitimacy of slavery, claim that the Jews are cursed for killing Jesus, and assert that one must give away all of one's belongings and even learn to hate one's own family before following Christ. These are just a few of the matters on which contemporary Christians, including orthodox Christians like Rod, feel quite comfortable breaking with, or explaining away, scripture and tradition.
Why do you liberals shut it.What God whats is what is important, not logic or fairness, and certainly not the spirit of the Constuition. the Islamic God whats you dead, so if they come after you one day, chopping hands and feet, be happy that Gods will is being done. Their law is Gods law, and they will see that you follow it-be glad! Religious people should be able to do anything that their God tells them to do.God not Constitutiton!Chop off your childs hand in school, know it was Gods will!
The punishment for heterosexual adultery in the Bible is stoning to death (Deuteronomy 22:21 ff, John 8:4,5).
It has NOTHING to say about marriage equality for gays. I'll listen to what it says about being gay after heterosexuals start stoning every heterosexual who has an affair.
Excuse me, "the Old Testament is not valid anymore"? If that's true then God didn't create the world, there are no Ten Commandments, no one should give a thought to Adam and Eve and the Fall of Creation.
That'll come as a terrific surprise to the Jews. It's also rather CONVENIENT isn't it? To take 4000 years of Biblical laws and then just say Whoops, kidding! Ignore all that. Forget the 10 commandments; forget all that Garden of Eden stuff, etc etc.
Of course, Jesus didn't say ANYTHING about homosexuality, so we can conclude he was OK with it. I mean, the Jewish laws aren't valid.
Okay then, in consequence I'm sure you'll support full equality for gay people - since Jesus himself had nothing to say about them - and Jewish laws are no longer valid. Great stuff.
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God. "
That's basically everyone then. Because even the most devout have been immoral. Opps. Lake of fire for you too, eh? Also, you're being immoral by claiming with certainty that gay people will be denied the kingdom of God (if it even exists, you're no example of Christian love - more arrogant certainty).
Also, it's not Jesus, it's Paul. If he wanted to refer to homosexuals he would have used the word "paiderasste." That was the standard Greek term at the time.
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders" 1 Corinthians 6:9
The above is a New Testament scripture:
Rick Warren is a genuine and loving Pastor, trying to help people avoid the flames of Hell.
Rick Warren knows this scripture very well, but he does not quote it, because he is being graceful.
Wonder wether the other guy (the one in favor of gay marriage) at the inaugeration now recieves all this flack from the RIGHT wing blogs and press.
Given all the legitimate issues with PEBO (the Blago-Rahm mess, the questionable campaign donations, ACORN fraud, the still-hidden LA Times Khalidi-tape, the citizenship & Special Service questions, to name a few) one can't help but feel that this whole Warren nonsense is a purposeful distraction by the PEBO-bunch, CNN etc. sure lap it up.

Obama will disappoint a lot more groups in the coming years. It's just the beginning.

Actually it's not. Old Testament is not valid anymore and in John Jesus says that "He who is WITHOUT SIN let him throw the first stone." Epic Fail.

Epic Fail yourself. You're no Bible scholar.

Jesus said: "All these things are fulfilled in me."
Jewish laws were fulfilled in Christ. You may argue, but I know who is right.
