  • Thanks for the video man, do you have footage of Master Sken doing a demonstration where he lines about twenty students up in single file, gets the one in front to hold a pad, then knocks them all over like dominos with a kick!??? Love to see that again...

  • Sken, my unfaltering mentor when I thought I was going to prison for the crime I did not commit. He is unassuming, poilte & totally deadly. Glad we are still in touch & friends. Sken you are a top bloke...

  • His coach should be telling him to keep his hands up when he does this. All martial arts should take lessons from a boxer when it comes to using the upper body.

  • @bbqufc no the movements of the upper body in boxing would get you killed in a muay thai fight, bobbing and weaving like a traditional boxer would have you eating a knee or a shin in no time

  • If you get an empty bottle, oil it up a little and rub up and down your shins vigorously, then your nerve endings will die, making the shin very strong and when you get hit, u wont feel that much pain. which makes it the ultimate weapon.

  • That is stupid advice.

Damaging your nerves does not make your shin stronger.

Stressing your bones by kicking the bag does.

  • That helps also but killing the nerve endings on your shins will help for people serious about Muay thai or kickboxing. And what makes you say the advice is stupid ? and i have never said damaging the nerves, i said killing them.

  • Actually that is not a stupid advice, it works, i've been doing that procedure cus my ex coach Cung Le told me. And later on when i started sparring agaisnt my opponent i kicked him on the shin because he blocked and surprisingly i did not feel any pain. And kicking sand bags are nothing now, doesnt feel like i'm kicking that hard on the bag.

  • Lol glass bottles.

Nothing makes shins harder than heavybag and technical sparring. Oh yeah , and fighting

  • Thats not the only thing. Those will make shins harder also, but rolling an object up and down your shin pressing down is another way. Doesnt have to be glass bottles, its just that glass bottles are the best to use. anyways why are you arguing wit me ? If you don't know anything then plx STFU. Go ask a coach or someone who actually knows muay thai or kickboxing.

  • Iv had enough pro fights and trained at enough great camps to know alittle bit.Not alot. But i know that rolling glass bottles on your shins isnt practices at the best camps.....

  • Just because its not practiced at a camp doesnt mean its not a good advice. training camps and those places won't make you do them. you do them by urself on your decision. Because its you who wants your shin to be strong. And the only purpose for that procedure is to kill the nerve endings so you wont feel pain when you kick.

  • I find it hard to believe that rolling something on your shins will kill the nerves...I'm not an expert, or even practice martial arts...but this sounds hard to believe :/

  • reply tp dilemma1990

bin doin thai boxing 4 a while now,, u do get knocks nd that,, lumpy shins is the main fing but in the long term u dont reeli pick up any weak bone injuries or out nd u dont become brittle,, ur bones become stronger

  • Excellent vid!

  • hey guys i have a question.. i really like mua thai and im about to sign up for it,but my friends from kungfu and tkd say muay thais brutal conditioning leaves u brittle and weak later on in life. I dont really believe all that and am really looking forward to muay thai. But can u just tell me exactly what does the conditioning involve in muay thai?

  • hahaha later on in life, u talk like u are gonna do it professional or something

  • well no im not but i am gonna fight as an amateur atleast

  • as long as you doesnt try to harden your shin bones by doing wierd shit you'll be fine, actually tkd is worse if youre training for alot of years

  • its all about the conditioning, most thai fighters in thailand live in camp, fight every 4-5 weeks, most fight end by k.o,t.k.o,or 5th round disicion, punching is seen as the weekest technic.good luck

  • Well Muay Thai WILL TURN your body to a WEAPON, every parts of your body!!! Elbows to short knifes readyto leave wicked cuts and knees to spears ready to break ribs apart. So obviously, it deteriorates your physical health in long run, but you can beat the shit out of people too.

TKD and Kung-Fu are not as brutal as Muay Thai, thus the body of the fighter doesnt get damaged much.

  • ''sinclair''......kung fu is 10 times more brutal that muay thai,it has no rules end of ...muay thai is the most brutal RING SPORT

  • kung fu aint shi t, kick boxing is better then kung fu, and kick boxing is more comparable to mauy thai, but mauy thai it better because of the deadsly elbows and of course...the clintch. if ya know mauy thai and brazilian jiu jitsu then your good to go. Lol kung-fu ahahahahaha best thing that ever came from that was some movies, look at mma, kung-fu never made it no where compaired to other disiplines. ex: mauy thai, and jiu jitsu

  • I train in Muay Thai and my son does Kung Fu and I can tell you that Kung Fu is a very impressive technigue.

We spar and his techniques work very well and some of them are very vicious.

You shouldn't dismiss something you obviously know nothing about. And kick boxing is very basic unlike MT.

  • your dumb, you dont know what i know. you both train in 2 techniques(which you cannot spell, so im pretty sure your making it up) and they may work well against each other and against their own style but kung fu would never make it anywhere in a mma match period. Kung Fu is weak. In fact there has never been a Champ in MMA thats specialized in Kung Fu, that in itself shows its nothing compaired to other disiplines. Mauy Thai is waaaaay better but your a bit to ignorant to realize that.

  • "muay thai is the most brutal RING SPORT", yeah it sure is

  • Muay Thai, in its original form, has no rules either.

Are you telling me that in competion Kung Fu there are no rules?

How do people compete in Kung Fu? To the death? lol

  • i wanst talking about competing you tit ,also muay thai in its original form is called muay boran, muay thai is the RING sport kung fu has a RING sport called sanda (which kicks muay thai's ass )

  • Ha ha ha.

Muay Boran is an umbrella term that describes a number of old muay styles that have been brought together to be taught as a curriculum. The term includes styles from all areas of Thailand i.e Paak Tai - Southern Styles,Paak Eesaan- Eastern, Paak Klang- Central,Paak Nuua- Northern. Each of these styles have their own off shoots such as Muay Chaiya, Muay Maa Yang etc.

Muay Boran brings together that which is common to all styles. Muay Thai beats Kung Fu any which way, old style or new.

  • Yeah Sanda is pretty awesome. But you shouldn't be so quick to say Sanda is best. Sanda and Muay Thai are both effective fighting arts so it depends on the fighters. Stop comparing styles.

  • yes and when your fighting style specializes in takedowns from round kick counters i think you would have a slight advantage against a fighting style which specialize in round kicks? a fighter is only as good as his moves

  • thats true sanda has good takedown defence against round kicks, but Muay Thai specializes in elbows and knees too.

  • You've obviously never received a real muay thai roundhouse.

Long and short of it? Try and catch one from a professional fighter and you'll have yourself a broken arm ;)

  • im ard'

  • sanda's like K-1 ....o.o kickboxing.

  • yes but the fighters have to train and train to get there shins and elbows use to the sort of damage, there shins are practically built to be like steel, but yeah true in the long run it would be damaging to their bodys, ive started muay thai myself and but not competing just to stay fit, haha good fun

  • hey bro, listen to your friends. my own experiences are the same. good luck

  • its brutal and the training reflects it.But physically I'm in the best health I've ever been after only 6 or 7 montsh and you see the transition physically as you progress

  • I was taught personally by Grand master Chinawut Sirisompan (GM Woody).

I would be unable to engage in who in a discussion as to WHO is the best Master or who isn't. As my teacher taught me, each man whether a master or not has something valuable to teach you.

I have been fortunate to train with a number of recognised MT masters and grandmasters and each of them have taught me well.

Blessings upon each of them for what they have given and continue to give to the world.

    Andy

  • Excellent comment

  • Thank you...

  • The mma and tkd are sitting in the corner, crying and rocking backwards and forwards, hoping that the Muay Thai doesn't see them.

  • You makes me laugh! You rocks! :D :D :D

Muay thai is my favourit martial art too!

  • lmao thats a bloody good 1 brother. sawadeeee

  • @eldirtyone Too bad Muay Thai is a part of MMA and some of the most successful MMA fighters use Muay Thai.

  • Master Sken has appeared in Bat Man movie with the double sword he is one of the best Thai boxer He has many good fighters and has done alot to promote Thai Boxing I have Seen and a very good friend of mine

    Wing Chun Master

  • This is in reply to my own messages that i left. No enough research was done in conjunction with past comment i made concerning Master Sken i have spoke to him personally and i would like to apoligise to anybody that was offended by this.

  • Hi liamfrantic,

Your apology is accepted. People on here just see one aspect of his skill and think he's a tae kwon do man. But I can asure you he's a Muaythai Master. If yer were to cut Master Sken in half he'd have muaythai written right through him. take care.

  • In reply to liamfrantic:

strong words, would you say this to M.Sken in person ? Anybody who knows Muaythai knows M.Sken is at the top of the Muaythai tree. Just ask people like Geoff Thompson, Self-defence expert. Dave Turton Jujitsu master, (Mr Turton saw M M.Sken take out 5 all black rugby players).anybody in the world of Muaythai.

    M. Sken has camps all over the world. He's trained world champs in Muaythai. If you still think M.Sken is "has been" get to to his camp.

  • my bad...
