  • did he say morning bitch a antichrist

  • @nicholasgerling - No, he doesnt swear EVER. There are alot of things he says that only we understand, and some things he says that we havent got a clue about!

  • GOD I M MADLY IN LOVE WITH GREYS THEY R THE BEST PETS EVER WHEN I WILL GET OF MY OWN UR GREY IZ SIMPLY SWEET AND INTELLIGENT

  • how can so many people have disliked this??? this is clearly a happy bird, and he sounds great talking. plus, i see a big cage, lots of toys, he seems to have his wings...or at least enough feathers to fly onto those nice hanging toys outside his cage...

    so, what's not to like?

    thumbs up!

  • for a minute i thought it was fake. that is one awesome parrot you got there!

  • This is my African Grey's favorite video! I think she has a crush on Blue!

  • I love his accent, too, especially when he says, "You alright?" I don't live too far from Birmingham myself (Dudley, actually) and it's weird hearing a bird with the accent especially as most birds on here have American accents (no offense, but the majority of videos are from the US) I have a Grey, too, a little girl. I'm hoping she begins talking soon; she's about 10 months so hopefully *fingers crossed* she'll begin talking. Beautiful bird! "You alright?" Hahaha.

  • its so amazing how birds are so colorful and printed in their feathers.

  • That is CRAZY!!! Gray parrots are so amazing.

  • thumbs up for accent!!!!!

  • My God when he takes off I thought the monkeys from Wizard of Oz had busted through a window or something.

  • He's from Birmingham!

  • cool parrot

  • Oh he has the CUTEST accent :D

  • 1:23 was funny lol

  • lol i loved it :D

  • I wish i had parrot but i got a parakeet

  • Well a keet is still a member of the parrot family : )

...or did you mean that you were wanting one of these African Grey chaps?

  • Oh my god

Does he have a birmingham accent? mind=blown

  • lol, yes we live in birmingham so he is a brummie parrot!

  • 1:04 giggity giggity giggity

    lmao

  • my african grey is funny he dances n sings at the same time to. he also knows ciara's song 1,2 step n it's soo funny wen he sings it lol

  • My buddy had a Cockatoo and it screamed so much I saw the tension it caused in the family. They put it on the back porch and it would scream louder. I suggested they give the parrot to someone who could give it the attention it deserved, and saved a marriage, and I bet the bird is happier too.

  • Greys are incredible, even when just practicing you can see the association of ideas: he tries several phrases for "up" in a row, he dances when he sings, he does the *beep of hanging up the phone* after a telefonic goodbye.

I've seen other videos when (Einstein I think) associated "shower" and "you're all wet!" and told one after the other names of various kinds of food.

You can really tell they're thinking about what they say! <3

  • WOW I love his accent. He is soo cute. i'd love an african grey.

  • What a cute video! I love this kind of birds but they are so loud and so expensive I love to see them but I will not buy it.

  • They might be pricey but my bird never spoke if I told it to be quiet. Until I got up in the morning it would never make a sound. When asked he would say anything I wanted him to.

Only thing I didn't care for was the constant cleaning and vacuuming.

  • oh really that is true some of them are so loud. and some of them they learn how to speak. and some of them you really have to teach them and they get so lazy good thing that your bird doesn't make a sound in the morning. I have 6 parakeets and two love birds and at 7:15 in the morning they start to chirp and they don't shut up until 8pm

  • lol..That's why. You have a bunch of 'friends ' for him to get him started. That's alot of birds!

    Have fun......

  • Yeah I know that is alot of birds we bought them last year for $10 each at a pet store. Except the love birds but they get on my nerves sometimes.

  • Im getting my african grey in 6 weeks, i cant wait they are such beautiful birds. Any tips on getting him to speak?

  • african greys dont normally talk when they are bbbies and some take along time to learn so ont be disheartened if it takes over a year for him to talk 9although some speak much earlier). The best way for them to learn is jut for you to talk to them as often as you can. Most importantly though enjoy your bird as he is and think of the talking as a bonus - i have another parrot who doesnt talk and i wouldt have him any other way!

  • hey we actually got him early we have had him 11 days and already he is mimicking whistles and sounds, the little fella is only 5/6 months old. His personality is already showing but i know i have a lot to learn. He tends to get a bit aggresive with toys which i heard was a natural thing. He loves his blueberries aswell but i cant give him to many it turns his poo blue lol.

  • I got my CAG when she was still hand feeding. At about 8 months she started to whistle various songs we tought her. It wasnt until a year and a half old she started to talk, and since then she has been an absolute chatterbox, noth talking and whistles.

  • repetitive lessons and rewards.

  • @Tarney

my Grey was young when I got her. I decided not to teach her and just talk to her like I would anyone else. She learned quickly and the stuff she repeated was funny (things I woujldn't have tauight her like, she hears the keys in my hand and says, 'Goodbye. You be a good bird, I'll be back" )

  • Funny, but wouldn't that get annoying after a while to hear a bird say a bunch of random things??

  • not really as it isnt a bunch of random things - it is a repetition of things we say to him when he is out of his cage, particularly when offering him a grape too.

Besides that is actually never gets annoying or boring, it is lovely to hear him talking.

  • ROFL! funny ass parrot! bobbing its head up and down!

  • If I'd have known these birds crap every 10 minutes, I'd have never got my congo grey, but I'm glad I didn't know, because I kind of like him.

  • wtf?

  • lol....that;s so funny because that's what mine does. Everytime I pick him up, he craps. Everytime he climbs down the cage, and walks to the living room, he craps...crap, crap, crap...but funny as hell.

  • my bird did the same thing... every time i picked him up it laid a crap right on my hand or my t-shirt... but after many nasty experiences, I managed to learn his "ways" and whenever i wanted to take him around the hose, i piked him up, put him back on the cage and he eventually craped there.. (smart bird though, get's ready for action ^^ ).

Unfortunately, the call of a bird outside was to much for my MALE parrot , and so, after 4 years, he flew away :| .

  • Mine flew away too. I was out back and he saw me out there, not knowing he could fly yet, only being a few months old, took off down the block. I chased after him and a huge Osprey came swooping down and had a great lunch...I hand fed that bird for months too. Oh well, so is life.....

  • I know what you mean :(... my grandfather's budgie flew of too ... it got chased by some crows i think (if not seagulls)... poor bird, it got scared while on my grandfather's shoulder and it just happened to be close to the window. The budgie was very old... ugly way to pass to the next life...

  • i love the flying in the beginning. it scared me

  • Brummie parrots own.

  • what was he/she saying

  • transcript of all the words i can make out are now in the description.

Basically everything he is saying is because he wants me to fetch him off his cage and take him to get a grape!

  • he has been DNA sexed as male and is nearly 6 years old

  • big up birmingham..ladywood..hansworth..five ways..rotton road...the botanical gardens...cuddles house of love..the fried dumplin cafe..buck buck...brrrap...respect i....peace an love...rice an pea..........

  • there was a parrot that said its address to cops also its owners name cool right

  • It sounds like he has a British accent :P

  • he does - he lives in Birmingham, England!

  • If I had a parrot I will speak around it like that so it would have a brummy accent.

    "Alright" great parrot!

  • Soo cute!! I have a budgie ;)

  • lol parrots

  • My African Grey enjoyed watching your video; she kept saying, "See the birdie!"

  • lol 1:01

  • rofl he was flying around

  • How sweet.

  • How beautiful ... I have a timneh on you tube ... Greys are the BEST !

  • there just to expensive

  • also, mine cusses EVERY DAY

  • Maybe it was around a bunch of people that kept cussing o_o. Maybe if you tell it to stop saying cuss words, it'll stop! (If it's smart enough...)

  • sillycaeser has the same bird

  • i like when birds fly around the house

  • yepp no problem =]

  • i wouldn't be able to not clip my grey's wings. he is just too clumsy. i'm thinking about letting my eclectus's feathers grow so she can fly. are all greys clumsy or is mine just a dork? lol

  • african grays are known to be the most untalented flyers. ours does the same. so no, urs isnt a dork. =]

  • ok thx lol

  • sos mine when it gets scared it flies into my window and on my fireplace lol :P

  • mine has no problem flying. its the best flyer i ever seen. its name is Willow.

  • Lol love the little dance with his head!

  • OMGosh...Looks just like my Grey...Great video thanks for sharing. Yours is very talented. :)

  • i realize a cockatiel and budgies have a tiny voice that songs like they talking through a microphone! but a parrot have deep voice especially the grey parrot

  • Thanks for sharing this beautiful, well cared for creature with us!

  • oh wow he isnt clipped, ours is.

  • lol, yes he has a British accent, or specifically a Birmingham (brummie) accent. However bizarely he also says hello in an Australian accent (think he's been watching Home and Away while we're out!!!)

  • A happy healthy well taken care of parrot with LOTs of toys! Kudos for being such a great parrot parent!

  • You have a pretty bird friend! He is very busy and happy!Peace out! Bieds are the eyes and ears of heaven!

  • "bieds"???

  • oh my gosh i have a african grey parrot and it gets annoying as it keeps saying my name 'frankie get up.!' n it gets annoying so eventually i have 2 get up.:( lol :)and it can now sing frere a jacka. well parts of it n say bow chika wah wah from listening to the t.v and hopefully we can teach it a song fully soon. xx

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please see my video clip on a parrot animation and some Victorian trading cards of exotic birds such as parrots, paradise bird, toucan, humming bird etc.

  • lool

  • What is so funny? Are you laughing about my comment of about the bird talking so funny?

  • Beautiful birds, sadly they are being decimated! Their habitats are being destroyed because of human greed and irresponsability!

  • lol, you can take a wild parrot and try and keep it captive, see how many fingers you have left afterwards, how much wallpaper you don't have and door frames which aren't whole anymore

  • He's lovely what type of subspecies is he?

  • he is the 'Congo' subspecies (ie not a Timneh).

  • i wish i had a parrot, and i would teach him how to speak like arnold schwarzenegger

  • :P bleeee!!!

  • that would be funny.

    "It's not a tumah!"

  • Let me guess....digital camera with a memory card? I use the same method to take my videos and when I transfer them onto my laptop, the sound is great. But when I upload them here, the sound is way out of sync. Can anyone help me with this problem?

  • Wow, that was great. I'm considering an African Grey, but not sure I'm ready. Thanks for your help in my research. What amazing birds!

  • They are a lot of fun. They need work and much time outside the cage in order to prevent boredom. These birds are awesome learners, considered one of the best breeds around when it comes to learning.

  • i think its weird that my grey (ozzy) makes some of the same noises, they are so smart, ozzy's just a nutter!

  • lol, thanks for commenting, i hadnt noticed it sounded like 'we dont need milk!', i think it actually is 'A bluey blue' but your interpretation is funnier! :D

  • it sounded like at the start it said "we dont need milk"? lol i have a yellow rested cockatoo and she says "show us ya tits"

  • LOL

  • haha! thanks for sharing!

  • wow amazing
