Do guys think maybe somewhere deep inside we RESENT Ron Wood for his unlikely circumstances (given his mediocrity)? Most of us personally know a dozen guitarists who outplay RW. Everything we read describes him (RW) as a great guy! Keith's book affirms that MT left on his own accord, but jeez did they replace a virtuoso (MT) with a swell guy (RW) who kind of bites, but looks great as a Rolling Stone?

This guy is a great guitar player but he has been rumoured to have had not only a develepling drug problem and had a huge ego problem which is obvious in this embarrasing interview. He can't sing and he can't write but he can play. To say that HE was the reason Those Stones albums were great is a fucking insult to the songwriters who had done fine up until Let it bleed without him and 2 fantastic albums with him and then it started to go downhill WITH him in the band Sour grapes.

So, ah, what's your point, Mick? Do you think we celebrate the Stones because they are so good looking? No. We celebrate them because they are a great fucking band - with and without you.

Taylor was bloody right to leave at the top. His departure was as graceful as his playing.

one more thing, I never got over Taylor leaving. it is probably because he was in the band when I discovered their music. Keith put it best " Taylor is a great guitar player and he found out the hard way thats all he is"

very insightful indeed, he seems very sad. perhaps its because he is a true blues man. one thing I noticed about MT is when the stones are all jumping around he was calm and still just playing guitar. I think deep down he is sad he left. but Mick and Keith should of gave him a few props and he would prolly still be with them.he basically wrote moonlight mile and sway and got no credit after being promised by mick he would. what happend to that beautiful SG he played . MT rocks

@ih8tbush Ive heard that but being a stones fanatic especially from the MT era exile sounds to muddy to me and I never really got it. there are a few tracks I like but in no way to me do I rate it with sticky fingers or let it bleed. just my opinion MT was what made them so good in that time. when Ronnie came along it was really over for them for creating and became a greatest hits review

stop complaining about that ronny wood didnt chang their sound, he did he plays all the guitar solo and he its a way better then keith richards that only play rhythm and chords all the time. mick taylor he was better in teqnique but the truely rolling stones sound its acient art of weaving a in guitars and when ronnie wood started this was more used

Mick Taylor is an amaizingly gifted guitarist, and the "Mick Taylor era" was a geat period for the Stones, however just as Mick Taylor needed to evolve, so did the Stones. While Ron Wood may not be technically as "polished" as Mick Taylor, the Stones were never really about that.
