the baffle doesn't effect the back pressure in the exhaust, its the screening behind the baffle that does. The baffle is to control sparks from escaping the pipe when it backfires, that's why the baffle is also known as a "spark arrestor". In fact, by taking the baffle out you gain horsepower but expose the tip of your pipe.
is this electrick or not. you can go on ebay and buy a exause tip for 45$. just go on ebay and type in 3D power tip cnc exhaust ttr 125. it will come rite up
@coolboy33BMX see how long that pipe is? it hass enuff backpressuer with a 5ft exhoust.
i do it with mine. it runns a litle cooler and gives you more speed and less torqe. Won hurt the bike, actrally it has ben running and starting better without the baffle.

ur a fag sounds like shit with out the baffle on it, if u want sound get a fmf, and on the YZ those are rivits u have to drill them out and dont try to take it off cuz it will sound like shit
@calvinkelders what are you talking about? When did I mention anything about a YZ? And I never said it was a smart idea to take the baffle out. Your fucking retarded kid. Fuck off.
@Bl0OdYShAdOw i didnt say u said anything about the YZ buddy, i said he should get his shit right before he makes vid, like its just fuckin retarded to do shit liek that. The baffle is meant to be on there because if u take it off there will be less back pressure eventually fucking ur motor shit.
@calvinkelders Really? Never said anything about a yz? Look up about 2 posts. You say, "and thats not even possible on the yz." So please get YOUR shit right before talking. And also you should probably learn how to type properly. You terrible grammar is straining. And also you tell him to not do that because it will fuck his bike up right? What your point? It's not YOUR bike so it shouldn't matter. Let the kid do what he wants. If he wants to fuck his bike up cool. Go at it. So please shut up.
@Bl0OdYShAdOw hey buddy listen here, im trying to tell the kid something, that its really gay to take the baffle off of ur "TTR" becuz ur gunna wreck it, look at the other comment below, and why not tell him that its stupid then at least he will have a bike to ride, and i really dotn give a flying fuck how i spell, i dont get marked on how good you reply to dumb ass people on youtube, that's what schools for buddy, incase you didn't know. @Pipipthadudalydo i have this bike and its a pretty small bike but to up shift you dont have to shift but when you take of you do it also has a ajustabl shock
Half these guys commenting are retards. Pulling the spark arrestor only creates less back pressure, not less compression. You may lose some power on the bottom end but gain in mid range or top end. Rejetting will lean or richen your air fuel mixture, leaner generally creates more power but too lean and you can burn the motor down. That the lesson for today kids..... All you know it alls should read a book and get yer s**t straight.
the bike looks pretty good and it sounds awsome w/out th baffle on.my cousin has one and he took the baffle off and this friday im goin to get on in martin county
acually if you don't run the bike to much w/o the baffle it doesn't hurt it but to much of anything can. i have the same bike and do the same thing haha. keep on riddin brother!
when u take the baffel off it sounds like crap cause its all hollow, i did this for a while but seriously the loud noise gets annoying after a while and i just put it back in. plus u gotta make sure ur jetting is set up good otherwise you could burn up some valves
The baffle fell off my wheeler somewhere on the trail about 4 years ago and I have ran it without it since. Havent had any problems and it sounds pretty sweet.
noo the spark arrester is the is over the baffel so it is called baffle no ur bike also it might be louder but u loose the hors and u will blow a hole in the piston blowing up the engine also i am 14 so ask anything
if it would fuck the valves all the aftermarket pipes would wich is not the case.Aftermarket pipes have even less back pressure then removing the baffle on a stock exhaust
No i do not think so. There are TTr' s that are L, LE, and E i think.. The L stands for Large (wheels), LE stands for Large Electric (start) and E stands for Electric.. Tell me if that helped
That looks and sounds like shit and that is bad for your bike because you have no back pressure..i advise you to get a Aftermarket pipe like Pro circuit or something
It is a law in virginia, that you have to have a spark arrester in place whenever you ride any motorcycle. It is a safety thing. It also probably does something for the engine. All i can say is, if you get it inspected, or you go to a track, put it on.
Hey, that was really cool. I showed up at the track today and someone suggested doing the same thing, it sounds way better and even ran better. Have to put it back on for trails though.
god damn it y does it keep cutin me off yet agin or a rivit and it is called a ratchet i could not stop laughin wat a dumb shit you need to rejet ur bike it is the same as putin a preformance exaust but all it does makes it "sound" better !!!!!!!
its not a baffle the baffle is at the bottom of the can on the ttr i took that out to when i did it the part you took out it the spark aresster and aflame will come out if it back fires now take the true baffle out and omg your ears will bleed
The reason you do not care if it hurts your bike is your mommy and daddy bought you the bike (is my guess). And it will over time screw up your vavles, but YOU DON'T CARE! Your TTR isn't a packing style silencer, it's like a car's muffler and just ABOUT any other OEM.
The round thing that is keeping your YZ's "baffle" in is called a rivit, and your YZ DOES NOT HAVE A BAFFEL! THAT IS THE TIP, TAKING IT OFF ADDS NO POWER! You have to drill it. Kids like you give us teens a bad name!
i got an 05 which i have stripped the glasspack from the muffler on my race pipe it is rediculously loud, check out my account i will soon have vids of it
u didnt take out the baffell u took out the whole exhaust tip those bikes dont have baffells. u are not going to have enough back presure and you will blow all of the heads and valve
What year model is that. I've got an 06 125L and it only has two holes inside the pipe. sounds awesome though. And i don't think it's bad for the bike. Just like open headers on a truck.
subscribe and i will. its in peices in my friends shed. i bought is used and there is a bunch of shit ron g with it so it should be done next week!!! subscribe for the vid!
@lentzy249 if you get it rejetted for less backpressure you get more power and it wont mess anything up. but i dont have enough money to get new jets. but thats just how we do things around here. i dont care. if it blows the motor ill have a good story to tell.
Did the same thing to mine...but that is a spark arrestor, not a baffle. The baffles are the inside the muffler. It's actually illegal to ride without one but nobody is really going to care unless you're at like a public trail or something.
it basicly all depends on altitude and back pressure. it doesnt hurt it at all just doing this but over a long period of time it can show a little affect
@lentzy249 What happens if you just take the spark arrestor off and drill the airbox out i heard that makes it more peppy but would i lose compression coment back plz.
@mAtThR3w it is good for your bike if u drill out your air box if u do be sure to put some mesh over the holes so u dont get shit in em and DO NOT take off ur baffle u get much less compression so less power and u will have less piston life n u can blow a piston your welcome
@lentzy249 Next time I'm at the race track I'll be sure to tell all the guys running straight exhaust on there cars/bikes that they're loosing power and will see a increase with some exhaust baffles, lol.
@lentzy249 14 years....and you still haven't got it right. There is no way a free flowing exhaust will harm your engine. And back pressure doesn't give power, it only robs you of it. Exhaust gas scavenging give power, which has to do with the diameter of the exhaust pipe, (small pipe = low end power, larger pipe = high end, eta).
It messes up the back pressure, and lowers torque. At least that's what I was told... You can re-jet your carburetor re-jetted for the increased air flow though
its not bad for it unless u take close to the whole pipe off then u loos yor power and you burn up da pston but it 4 strokes u can take it of it wont matter but on 2 stroke you have to have back presure or u wont have no speed or power. dont sit there and say you now becuase your dad bought u a little 50cc cuase you r probaly lieing
Hahaha, good thing TTR 125Ls are already crap. But that is very bad for it and without the baffel that will probably do serious damage to the engine or carb.. Don't even get me started on what could happen to the valves, haha.
haha you have no idea what thats doin to your engine u will probobly care when you valves get all fucked up and you dont have a bike to ride plus have the spark arrestor in adds restriction and restriction = HP just hought u might wanna kno that...
takin the baffle off wont ruin the engine, but its not good for it because the motor works alot harder because of free air flow. but it does not effect performance at all.
Well, I'm gunna be the first to say that I hate the way a bike sounds with the baffle out, any bike!!! It's not good for the motor, not to mention that some people look for reasons to hate dirtbikers, and this kind of stuff fuels their fire!! Put the baffle back in, or fork out some money and buy an aftermarket pipe, more power and they actually DO sound better.
i run my ttr 125 with no baffle cause it fell out and busted cause the jackass before didnt take care of it lol
travisty151 4 months ago

@TpMxRd21KTM sorry but ive been a mechanic for 14 years i think i know wat im talkin bout
lentzy249 1 year ago
@lentzy249 14 years....and you still haven't got it right. There is no way a free flowing exhaust will harm your engine. And back pressure doesn't give power, it only robs you of it. Exhaust gas scavenging give power, which has to do with the diameter of the exhaust pipe, (small pipe = low end power, larger pipe = high end, eta).

Sometimes but it can be really bad for the bike at the same time
Mpntball2012 2 years ago
how can it be bad
RCdude33 2 years ago
It messes up the back pressure, and lowers torque. At least that's what I was told... You can re-jet your carburetor re-jetted for the increased air flow though
Mpntball2012 2 years ago
it does nothing of the sort
Yamaha950 2 years ago
@RCdude33 NO but makes a kooler sound lol
EvanRules87 1 year ago
yes he does
kanes100 1 year ago
its not bad for it unless u take close to the whole pipe off then u loos yor power and you burn up da pston but it 4 strokes u can take it of it wont matter but on 2 stroke you have to have back presure or u wont have no speed or power. dont sit there and say you now becuase your dad bought u a little 50cc cuase you r probaly lieing

if you want it to sound louder just put a pipe on it you idiot so it wont do damage to your engin!
pattass777 2 years ago
if you dont have money then what do you do? i put a weed eater vacuum thing on the end of my pipe. it sounds like a harley =D
eddynou 2 years ago
Hahaha, good thing TTR 125Ls are already crap. But that is very bad for it and without the baffel that will probably do serious damage to the engine or carb.. Don't even get me started on what could happen to the valves, haha.
JonIndustries253 2 years ago
yeah its bad for the motor and it takes away from the power because you need the back pressure
bigdawg335 2 years ago
4 strokes dont need back pressure

the only reason the baffle being taken out is bad for the bike is b/c it can get rocks or dirt in it and mess up ur engine
eatdust720 2 years ago
ya leave the baffle off.
i cut all my baffles out of my pipe and welded a tip on it.
loud as fuck!
pure straight pipe...

MOTOSPORT125 3 years ago

KILLZ0NA 3 years ago
i no. and i took out the packing
MOTOSPORT125 3 years ago
takin the baffle off wont ruin the engine, but its not good for it because the motor works alot harder because of free air flow. but it does not effect performance at all.
mxdude19 3 years ago
yea trails are disappearing because kids are taking the baffles out. buy better exhaust and it dose ruin the engine.
dirtrideryzrthebest 3 years ago
Well, I'm gunna be the first to say that I hate the way a bike sounds with the baffle out, any bike!!! It's not good for the motor, not to mention that some people look for reasons to hate dirtbikers, and this kind of stuff fuels their fire!! Put the baffle back in, or fork out some money and buy an aftermarket pipe, more power and they actually DO sound better.
scott9804 3 years ago
i allways have the baffle on. i just made the vid with it off.
