  • dont ask fucking coon. Ask Cormac!

  • hello, i am frank coen, the lost brother of the coen brother film makers.

i have no soul...i will never be happy...

  • @lovetownsend the coen brothers actually seem very happy, once you get passed their interview personas. they just seem very confused/distraught about life, like anyone who sees reality for what it is. they are both happily married with families and have implicitly stated in their movies that that is the only form of true happiness in life. and it's widely known they are very happy and have fun making movies.

  • @jeffmangumisgood

im sorry good sir i think you mistaken my comment for sarcasm, ether that or you are trying to make me feel so ashamed of my good name?

  • I like the Ethan in "The Searchers"

  • lmao, loved joel impression of javier

  • I love the story told by Tommy Lee at the film's conclusion about going out in the freezing dark and making the fire with his fire. Great ending, much like that of Blood Meridian, albeit with even less ambiguity.

  • I thought the Coens just glowered and didn't speak. Interesting interview.

  • Ethan is adorable I think. He seems the most shy and the one to always giggle . He doesn't seem to take himself seriously.

  • ha ha ha jesus lads do ya just come on youtube to fuck some1 out of it?, love this film book is great too

  • youtube, a place to vent

  • Honestly, I think just about every movie of the Coen's that I've seen, and I've seen almost all of them, have been masterpieces. No Country for Old Men could be the peak.

  • well, i wouldn't say it's their best. Fargo is just so good to be beaten. YAH! but it's up there with Lebowzski as their second bet

  • where can I watch the whole thing?

  • asshole

    what were u expecting?

good guy wins? like all the other hollywood shit?

fuck you, its an awesome movie, won 4 oscar

  • fuck you

  • You suck at life :)

  • Why do you people thumbs up this vulgarity, and bitterness, and lack of any speech skills? I really don't understand.

  • @almostblue22 STFU!

  • No, Sheriff bell survived. You are very very stupid!

  • Jesus Christ! Go and rent Spiderman 3 and shut up! IDIOT!

  • Spider Man 3? I "marvel" at cyber-jerks like you.

  • Ae you a fucking idiot? I was responding to commiealiens. I not even sure what it is your talking about. You think I LIKE a movie about a man in a spider costume? Work on your comprehension, and stop leaving smarmy one liners about things you havent understood. FUCKING MORON!!!

  • The mere fact that your roidal rage has you going after someone so hard is what I'm talking about. Catch up, caveman.

  • Spider man is the essence of all things American. Go back to Russia Trotsky.

  • I like Spider-man but the movie sucks your red-neck grandmothers balls, Jed.

  • yeah and spiderman sux major ass!

  • Everyone knows that SpiderMan was a communist, and that fact that you show such allegiance to him proves that you are a modern day Stalin.

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • Wouldn't I like to know

  • What this movie is REALLY about :

"the CIA was aware of the cocaine transactions and the large shipments of drugs into the U.S. by the Contra personnel and directly aided drug dealers to raise money for the Contras." -

WIKIsearch : Gary Webb - Dark Alliance

  • Ethan is so cute! I heart him!

  • Say that to their face... I bet they'd laugh at your stupid ass.

  • Fails as a film...my ass. Are you simple, boy?

  • My god!! You are the single dumbest person to ever post a comment on youtube.

  • I think Joel Coen and Javier Bardem are trying to purposely blend into the background.

  • It is profound, sad and utterly compelling. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

  • Another movie goer who wants to be spoon fed! The movie ends the may the novel does. It doesn't have a 'Happy' ending because Bell doesn't feel too happy. It's that simple! He is left only with his wife who has yet to 'retire'. Bell didn't prevent a damn thing in the story and now he must live the rest of his life with that on his conscience. It's so sublte but yet brutal. He did what he could, he couldn't stop 'what's coming', now there's only death to 'look forward' to.

  • good ending to a good movie. we dun need hollywood to spell out the ending all the time please

  • when do your dreams ever tie up loose ends in your life?

  • In what way was the ending crap? Was it because the story didn't spoonfeed you a heaping amount of resolution at the end? IS it that it wasn't completely tailored to American tastes in film -happy endings? I am American and I relaize how obsessed people are with happy endings. The title of the film is "No Country for Old Men" for a reason. The central theme of NCFOM is that times, even in the 80's have really changed our country, and in most cases not for the better.

  • All hate all this drug addicts that think there the victims of society.Nobody forces nobody to take drugs.liberty will fuck you up if your not responsible.

  • You can't make that kind of generalization, some people grow up in drug infested neighborhoods, which makes it hard for them to just say no. But when it comes to rich kids living in the suburbs, I agree with you on that.

  • Also, Charlie Rose needs to shut up. My least favorite interviewer.

  • The Coen Bro's are the smartest film-makers working today.

  • Why because its not some sappy bullshit hollywood ending

  • no, there wont be

  • ya no shit.. anything thts not sugercoated and falls together at the end everyone goes apeshit...

  • The ending was amazing, because it reflected the way life is. The movie ends at one point. It's life, it goes on. You didnt like it because the bad guys didnt get it in the end, and Tommy Lee doesnt fade out saying, "we got another one honey."

  • True that.

  • Must be helpful to have two people doing the job. Apart from resolving differences, just having two people to grind through the work must help a lot.

  • cronenberg is losin his touch though.. whereas the coen bros are back again!! what a fucking amazing movie!!!

  • Really? Cronenberg losing his touch? I thought Eastern Promises was onr=e of the best films of the year as was the Coen Bros. No Country For Old Men. Best film I've seen this year tho was Into The Wild.

  • Cronenberg losing his touch? Ergh...Eastern Promises displays one of the greatest fight scenes ever seen on film, great character portrayal, and beautiful dialogue, the only thing you feel is it ends to soon

He's definately not losing his touch...so your comment comes across as pretty asinine

I love the Coen brothers and Cronenberg, although my fav film of 2007 is no country, and so far 2008 is there will be blood

  • a good fight scene yes. viggo does an amazing job and actually makes a convincing russian whereas the others do not. the accents are abyssmal.. laughable! i think cronenberg is veering away from everything that made his movies interesting to begin with. its just my opinion omnipotent one.. take it or leave it asshole

  • Lol omnipotent, well I won't reject your opinion, it is an opinion after all

But I'd say Eastern Promises is the 2nd or third best film of 2007

But you probably know more about Cronenberg than I do, I need to watch much more of his old films, any in particular you'd suggest?

  • what films of his do you know?

the last 2 films of his are quite different in that they have very little to do with alot of the same themes hes chose to explore throughout his career. i dont find them as effective or interesting.. my opinion. :)

  • one of the greatest fight scenes on film.....youve gotta be joking ....EP was an average movie and about 30 min too long

  • It was one of the best films of 2007...that goes without saying

The fight scene was amazing, Ebert even referred to it as a benchmark for modern fight scenes

And I already mentioned that the movie is short lived, and it's about 1hr 40 min.

  • great interview!

  • we knew the area of israel but could not release the fact that national security meant isreals homegrown security.

duh duh the academy awards is simply a payoff..

  • This comment was brought to you by "Partnership For A Drug Free America"

  • there's few popular directors making consistently interesting movies like the Coen brothers (well..Cronenberg comes to mind). i can't wait to see this new one!

  • Yeah i think that the coen brothers are just as strong as they were in the 90's. Infact, i would call them two of the best filmmakers alive right now. Most incredible directors have passed on. I like cronenberg also.
