Boy. I'd really hate to end up in that situation. I would be scared like no body's business. The subway tends to make me nervous so to have to be evacuated I'd be crying in the corner.
From now on when heading to the train I will ALWAYS carry an extra pair of walking shoes, a plastic bag to put filthy shoes in afterward just in case, a flashlight, and wet wipes! Argh!
much respect to the train crew for keepin everything orderly... good set of people most everyone was calm. thats agood thing. This is what you call an act of nature. good job for keeping your cool. At least you could walk the catwalk and u didn't have to climb off the front of the train. Teaching that is a nightmare!
@ noramoss i know the E never goes outside, so it makes a great place for the homeless to stay warm in the winter. mann there are weirdos on every train and bus out there in nyc..lol.. i think the L train is the strangest. Every time i get on it it's like the wierdest culture..goth peeps punk rockers european immagrants. The L trips me the fuck out when i gotta get on it and that's rare, but every time i've been like the only black dude on the L..lol.. maybe i need to walk thru the carts
@alpha1178 it had rained so hard so quickly that the downpour entered the drains and began to flood the train tunnels, haulting the train. we were evacuated luckily safe and sound. i missed work that day though.
@whoyoube305 u are NEVER alone on a nyc subway no matter what time it is. trust me. there are about 10 carts and someone is on another one of them. besides the motorman and door operators.
I was stuck in GCT, had to take a train to Woodlawn, then from there had to wait in the pouring rain for a train to New Haven. Turns out it was a transfer, had to wait in Stamford for an hour. So it took me about 6 or 7 hours to get from GCT to New Haven when this happened..
@bkshine87 yeah when i looked off to the side and noticed how high we were.. i was like. OOOH SHIIIITT!! lol at least u didn't hear a SPLASH or a THUD after..lol.. that would have been BAD!
i don't remember it was so long ago that this happened.. I think maybe i saw something in the tunnel or looked down to see how high we were or something..
i remember this and i was on this train when it happened. i was scared at first that i thought there were terrorists or a bomb but thank god it wasnt serious and just a water fall that did cause delays which made get home late

@whoyoube305 Well, there would be a conductor/driver there to guide you. You wouldn't be completely alone.

yeah they had to cut off the power. We didn't walk on the tracks, we walked on wall where one can exit before heading back to a station.
