I did not know Spam came in a single serving pouch. Esbit fuel is expensive and hard to find. Stopped using Esbit and switched to Trangia this year. I am a Trangia collector also.
the space you saved with the esbit stove you can now put cleaning supplies or a moist towlette for cleaning the mess tin up enough to put everything back in it
The foil on the bottom of the Esbit stove is a great idea. I wish it would have occured to me before, just like the idea of covering the bottom of your pot/mug when you heat it over the stove to avoid sooty residue. Thanks for that brillitant idea, but ........... SPAM!!!??
Looks like a great bit of kit. Have been looking at the mess kit for a while now but have ordered one after seeing your videos. I'm going to try it with the trangia triangle, should be a lightweight bit of kit. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job! Being a Trangia fan, I've had my eye on these tins for quite awhile. Your video has prompted me to pull the trigger and order one. I'll let you know how my spam and eggs come out! Thanks for posting this.
Using spam as fat source for frying is a good idea. I don't know if i would like that, maybe ill pick up a single slice to taste it. Spam look awful :)
The cleaning was actually not bad. It cleaned up completely in fact. I was surprised. But I was really careful not to burn the food. Meats are difficult to cook in aluminum. Perhaps I'll burn something on purpose to see how it cleans up. About the eggs, outfitters sell egg carriers, but you can carry eggs in a tupperware container and wrap them in your microcloth, gloves, socks, etc. Egg carriers are only good for small eggs.
The Esbit cookstand and Trangia mess tin look a good marriage. I feel too hungry, I'm going open a tin of Spam. In UK we usually batter it (fritters), it tends not to come back, after a bruising.

Hi, how long did that cooking take? It seems like a small flame, can that setup boil water?

@MYTHIRDSHADOW
Yes, this type of stove is primarily used to boil water.

Spam is a salty processed meat that tastes like ham. Some people love it, some people hate it.

Good video on cooking "in" the trangia; hungry now. I boil only water in mine, but will venture out.
